Should Almunia stay as the number 1 goalkeeper or should Lehmann return.

I reckon Almunia should stay and we should trade lehmann and get a young keeper so he can develop and become a superstar keeper

Thoughts?

Lehman should try suck his own ****. He will be outta here come the next trade window. He has a nasty attitude and he is now old. No need for him.

We have good goalkeepers now. Manuel Almunia and Lukaz Fabianski. Much prefer Almunia as our keeper.

You couldn't put this in the Arsenal thread?

Lehmann is easily a better shot stopper than Almunia, he has better reaction times and is more likely go make a good save. Then the problem is we have the eccentricity factor as i like to call it. Very similar to that of one David "Calamity" James.

Almunia is an average keeper. He hasn't really been that good for Arsenal, not like he's made a string of world class saves in any particular game.

Arsenal need a new keeper in the transfer window. IMO they should take somebody like Mark Schwarzer who is one of the most consistant keepers in the league. He'll be good for another 2 or 3 years and by that time Fabianski should be challenging him for the #1 keeper role. I doubt that will happen though, perhaps another keeper is on the agenda.

I would prefer to keep Almunia and try and get some value for Lehmann in the next trade window.

Would definitely have liked to have thrown some money at young Schmeichel from Man City... he is gonna be better than his pa, I tell ya:thumbsu:

Yeah he has shown some good games for Man City
How old is he?

green lol funny...absolute waste of space...

He's the best keeper England have at the moment

Robinson is useless, Carson isn't good enough yet and Foster has been injured.

That leaves James and Green. It's time to give Green a chance

Green is an awesome keeper. Singly handedly kept the Hammers up last year. He is consistant, and whilst not being a shot stopper of the quality of Robinson or James, he rarely ever makes costly errors. He's a very good keeper and definately better then Carson.

Who gives a shit. There are only two half decent goal keepers in England.
1. David James.
2. Rob Green.

paul robinson is quality....
kasper schmeichel will be a star...
petr cech, by far the best goalkeeper playing in the premierleague
brad friedel is also very good

Kasper Schmeichel is 19 or 20, but has a long way to go to be even half as good as the old man. If he makes it in the premier league (I have my doubts) it probably won't be with City.

Best English keepers in order atm

1. James
2. Carson
3. Kirland
4. Foster
5. Green
6. Hart
7. Bywater
8. Taylor
9. Robinson

Probably missed one or two, but there hasn't been all that many English keepers at the top level for quite a while.

I rate Matt Murray and Lee Camp highly too, surprised both are still in the Coke league.

I'm not sure that poster realises just how good Kasper's old man was, either.
