Isn't the new rules that you have to line up in a straight line for a free kick or mark, otherwise it's play on?

When the Demons were kicking at goal, and the way they line up...isn't it play on in these instances? They are not in a straight line with the middle of the goal.
Or was I just screaming at the tv set for no reason?

For those types of kicks you can start outside the line, but you must kick in line with the man on the mark otherwise it's play on. Hence when players line up for this kick when the siren goes the umpire will tell them that they can't cross the line or it won't count.

You're wrong.
as long as they kick the ball in a line where the mark is, then it's fine.
The exception is when kicking after the siren.
Then you must not deviate at all.
