WCE trailed by exactly two goals at half time during Grand finals in 92 and 2018, yet won.

WCE has won a Grand Final twice after losing one previously 3 years before, both times against Hawthorn.
It gets weirder than that.

1992 GF:
Down 17 at QT
Down 12 at HT
Number 4 (Sumich) kicks it from south-east pocket to cap come back win.

2018 GF:
Down 17 at QT
Down 12 at HT
Number 4 (Sheed) kicks it from south-east pocket to cap come back win.

2018: WC build stadium similar in dimensions to the MCG.
2018: WC win the flag.
I wonder about this.
Only because no one mentions if the reverse is true. ie did Victorian teams play better in Perth because it now has the same dimensions as the MCG?

They did actually. There is a picture on this thread that shows WCs home advantage was a lot less than in previous years.

Not sure if this adds to it but here's another.

West Coast's first flag was against Geelong.

Saturday's first goalkicker started his career with Geelong.

Let's focus on Lewis Jetta.

He wore No. 32 at Sydney.
He wears No. 23 at West Coast.

Those numbers are reversed respectively.

3 + 2 = 5.
2 + 3 = 5.

West Coast beat Collingwood by 5 points.

5 + 5 = 10.

Lewis' first flag, which was achieved playing for Sydney, finished with a 10 point win to Sydney.

Ohh...how could we have missed this one:

The Philadelphia Eagles won the 2018 Superbowl against the New England Patriots. Collingwood also has (or had?) an Australian flag in its logo.

2018, Hutchings nullifies your inform playmaker Steele Sidebottom whilst gaining more disposals & kicking a goal on his way to a premiership medal.

My question is, was the Q-Stick really worth it?

The last time the Dees made the 8 { before 2018 } they were knocked out by a WA club in the finals. WCE won the flag
Melbourne ends their drought of not playing finals in 2018, WCE wins the flag. { And lost to a WA club }
Eagles last win before 2018 against the Hawks in Melbourne was in 2006. Eagles won the flag.
The first win in Melbourne against the Hawks in 2006, coming 12 years later, and they win the flag.

Wasn't Hutchings considered a "if he's best 22, we're probably not going too well" type around 12 months ago? Kind of started as a Priddis Mk II type in 2013, but tailed off every year since, until a bit of a revival in a tagging role this year.

Pretty fair assessment. Is pretty underrated now. In the conversation with Jacobs as best run with player in game. Always seems to snag a goal too

The Season results of the 1910s & 2010s have some noteworthy patterns:

1910 Collingwood premiers, 2010 Collingwood premiers
1911 Collingwood runner up, 2011 Collingwood runner up
1912 Swans runner up, 2012 Swans premiers
1913 St Kilda make first GF but beaten by more experienced Fitzroy; 2013 Fremantle make first GF, but well beaten by Hawthorn
1914 Swans runners up, 2014 Swans runners up
1915 Carlton back to back premiers; 2015 Hawthorn win successive premierships, Carlton are last
1916 Fitzroy win GF from (4th) last, 2016 Bulldogs win GF from 7th
1917 Richmond last, 2017 Richmond premiers.
1918 Collingwood lose GF by 5 points, 2018 Collingwood lose GF by 5 points

1919 Collingwood win GF by 25 points, 2019....will it continue.

Strange but true.

Probably already been posted here, maybe it's not good enough but here it is:

1966 Grand Final:
Collingwood: 10.13 (73)
St Kilda: 10.14 (74)

2009 Round 19
Hawthorn: 7.7.49
St Kilda: 10.14 (74)

What makes it somewhat of a coincidence is that this game was a reunion of almost all of the living 1966 Premiership winning teammates. It was in Tasmania and was held there because Darrel Baldock was unable to travel.

The round one ladder leader in each of the past five leap years has gone on to win the premiership.
All checks out
2000- Essendon belted Port
2004- Port belted Essendon
2008- Hawthorn belted Melbourne
2012- Sydney belted GWS
2016- The Dogs belted Fremantle

Amazingly the last time it had happened prior to that was 1968
