Are they really amazing coincidences though? Pretty common.
You think it is pretty common for a team containing that season’s Brownlow Medallist to lose the Grand Final to a team they beat in the Grand Final the previous season when that team contained that season’s Brownlow Medallist?

When did that happen before or since?

Forgive me for one from Scottish soccer: Mr Douglas Park is the chairman of Rangers Football Club. Fellow Premier League team Hamilton plays at New Douglas Park, which was named after their previous stadium Douglas Park. Neither stadium has any connection to Mr Douglas Park.

A number of St Kilda and Adelaide coaches have had their tenures at these clubs end after matches between the Saints and Crows as follows:

Robert Shaw - Shaw ended a disappointing two year stint as Adelaide Crows coach in 1995 and 1996 with a heavy loss to St Kilda at Waverley Park in Round 22 1996.

Neil Craig - A disastrous 103-point defeat to St Kilda late in the 2011 season in which the Crows kicked just 3.6-24 saw Adelaide dismiss Neil Craig from the senior coaches role.

Brenton Sanderson - The Crows finished a mid ladder season in 2014 with a 14 goal demolition of hapless wooden spooner St Kilda, but despite having taken the Crows within a kick of the 2012 Grand Final it wasn't enough for Brenton Sanderson to keep his job as Adelaide Crows senior coach.

Malcolm Blight - The first and surprisingly to this day only Adelaide Crows' premiership coach in 1997 & 1998, Blight retired from coaching after the 1999 season, but returned as St Kilda coach in 2001. It didn't go very well, and after just 15 rounds Blight was sacked by the Saints after an abysmal 97 point thrashing by Adelaide.

And Adelaide's first premiership was won against St Kilda.
St Kilda and Adelaide's first encounter was in Round 7 1991 at Moorabbin, and saw Tony Lockett playing his first match of the year having been injured in the pre-season. Lockett kicked 12.6 and St Kilda won by 131-points, 24.18-162 to 4.7-31, a record winning margin for the Saints at the time.

Richmond were the first team to play an away game at Subiaco Oval in Perth, when beaten by West Coast in Round 1 1987 in the Eagles' debut match.

In 2000, Richmond were the last away team to play at the WACA ground in Perth, defeating the Fremantle Dockers in a rare day game at the venue. Amazingly, Richmond never played West Coast at the venue, with all Perth games for the Tigers against the Eagles played at Subiaco during this era. Richmond did not even visit the WACA until 1997, 10 years after it commenced as an AFL venue, when they played the Dockers there, the only other team the Eagles never met at the WACA. The last WACA game in 2000 between the two teams that never played West Coast there was only the Tigers' second game there.

The Tigers also played the Dockers in Fremantle's debut game, although this was played at the MCG rather than in Perth. And in the second last match of 2017, when Fremantle played their last ever game at Subiaco Oval who were their opponents? None other than Richmond, the Tigers winning by 104-points.

Look I don’t know if this is an amazing coincidence lol but Richmond’s been winning Premierships in major Premiership anniversaries.

2017 - 50-year Premiership anniversary of 1967
2019 - 50-year Premiership anniversary of 1969
2020 - 100-year Premiership anniversary of 1920

Funnily enough, 2018 didn’t actually have a major Premiership anniversary.

If they win in 2021, then it would be the 100-year Premiership anniversary of the 1921 Premiership.

Collingwood’s AFLW Ruby Schleicher and AFL’s Trey Ruscoe are both from Western Australia and lives on the same street south of Perth.

there are no other teams worthy
Not a massive coincidence but Carlton had two unrelated ruck-men named Jones at the same time.
I do not think Warren 'Wow" Jones even played in same senior team as Peter 'Percy' Jones.
Wow played more toward mid 80's.
Percy Jones retired at end of 1979 season and was shock coach the next season. He probably coached, Wow in his first few senior games.
The main ruck around this period that Wow was learning from was Mike Fitzpatrick. I think there was also a Peter Fitzpatrick on the list for a year or two also. Probably a brother playing in the seconds.
