That would be amazing, except most of those numbers are wrong :$

Chris Scott coached his 450th game as a Player/Coach against Brisbane in 2020, Cats won the prelim that year

Chris Scott will coach his 500th game as a player/coach against Brisbane tomorrow night, Cats to win tomorrow?

I attended the Melbourne vs Sydney qualifying final two weeks ago, and the Geelong vs Brisbane preliminary final last night. In both games I sat in the MCC

On both occasions, by pure chance I managed to be allocated the exact same reserved seat to watch the games

It’s a 1:23,000 chance to get the same reserved seat

Another one of those 10 year parallels in the works it seems.

2012:
Richmond player awarded Brownlow under widely perceived controversial circumstances
Richmond player also wins Coleman Medal
------
2022:
Carlton player awarded Brownlow under widely perceived controversial circumstances
Carlton player also wins Coleman Medal

2013:
Essendon supplements saga becomes public
Richmond lose elimination final to team that takes Essendon's place after they're disqualified
-----
2023:
Hird returns to coach Essendon
Carlton lose elimination final to team that takes Essendon's place after they're disqualified?

Doug Wade.

As a Cat played in two GFs: a win against Hawthorn in 1963 and a loss against Richmond in 67.

As a Roo he has the same experience against the same teams: a win against the Hawks in 75 and a loss against the Tigers in 74.

Has another player beaten the same team in a GF while playing on different teams?

Has another player lost a GF to the same club on different teams?

Doug Wade doing both seems pretty freaky IMO.

Post made the day before the 2022 GF. 😎

If Sydney wins then Lance Franklin will have won a GF against Geelong as a player on two different teams by having also been with Hawthorn in 2008. Isaac Smith will have then lost a GF to the Swans as a player on two different teams by having also played in the 2012 Hawthorn GF loss.

If Geelong wins then Isaac Smith will have won premierships against Sydney as a player for two different sides as he was in the 2014 Hawthorn team.

Also if Sydney wins then Buddy will be that rare player who lost a GF to a team (2012) and then joined that team and played in a premiership with them. Other examples being Shannon Grant, who played in the 1996 GF loss as a Swan to North and then won it with them in 1999, and Blake Caracella, who as a Bomber played in the 2001 GF loss to Brisbane and then in a GF win with the Lions in 2003. Caracella IIRC is probably the player who came closest to becoming the first person to play in flags on three different teams; if not for a 2006 career-ending neck injury he could have been a member of Collingwood’s 2010 flag team as a 33 year-old.

Doug Wade and Lance Franklin.

Both wore 23 and have kicked almost the same amount of goals and if Sydney wins tomorrow they will be the only players in history (?) to have beaten the same club in a GF as players in different teams.

Wade vs Hawks in 1963 as a Cat and in 1975 at NMFC.

Buddy as a Hawk against Geelong in 2008 and as a Swan in 2022?

CORRECTION. Just looked it up. Wade was only in #23 as a Cat. He wore #2 as a Kangaroo.
