Chris Scott's first Premiership in 2011 saw the opposition risk playing an injured Reid brother in a gamble that never paid off.

Chris Scott's second Premiership in 2022 saw the opposition risk playing an injured Reid brother in a gamble that never paid off.

Are there any more Reid brothers?

These Reid Brothers Groins are guaranteed for at least 500 miles and possibly another 500 more , so 1000 miles before they fall down at your door

There are some similarities between Carlton 1995 and Geelong 2022.

Perceived as being too old and an unlikely premier entering the season.

Lost the GF two years earlier.

Lost a Final to Melbourne the previous year.

Won the GF with their sixteenth consecutive victory.

Last loss was in R9 to St Kilda.

Lost at the SCG.

Won a final against Brisbane.

Norm Smith medalist was an imported player in his thirties who was a somewhat late starter to VFL/AFL football and recruited from central Victoria - Smith from Ballarat (lived there as a university student but born and raised in NSW) and Williams from Bendigo. They both had 30+ touches and 3+ goals: Izzy went 32/3 and Diesel had 31/5. Fun fact - Isaac Smith grew up as an avid Carlton fan and apparently wore his Blues jumper to uni on Mondays after they won.😎

Coach had previously led the team to a flag 10+ years earlier.

Won GF by 60+.

Won PF by 60+.

Won first final by <14 points.

Player who wore #14 (Joel Selwood and Michael Sexton) came from Bendigo. Player who wore #35 had the initials PD - Peter Dean and Patrick Dangerfield.

Sweet 16 for Carlton 95 and Geelong 22. #14 had an S in their surnames! And just like 1995 people thought it'd be a close grand final only for one team to run away with it.

Another Carlton 1995 & Geelong 2022 connection. :drunk:

The players who wore #2 had inverse careers.

Greg Williams started as a Cat then won a flag as a Blue; opposite experience of Zach Tuohy.

The 2022 GF was also a contest between Williams’s two previous clubs. He won a B&F and an AFLPA MVP as a Cat and a Brownlow as a Swan. Who would he have been barracking for?
