An Apology is due

In the old Crow's board I posted once or twice using a close friend's handle. I made a statement that Kenny McGregor was a teaser and should not make the starting 22. I was wrong and I admit it. I was at FP when he made his 2002 debut and I was so p***** that he had taken Sarge's spot in the team I used to call him "KILL KENNY". Now I have become a huge fan of his and have change his nickname to "DON'TKILL KENNY". If ever a player has improved himself it is Kenny and and he is showing us why the Crows picked him over Pavlich. Well done Kenny, you have proven this rabid fan wrong.

He has come a long way this year and was playing with great confidence in the finals against Melbourne.

I reckon Sarge has a bit of Kenny in him actually. They can both grab a mark and move like jelly.

I to was one who used to ask why McGreger & not Pavlich but like you guys i am coming around,
Ken had a pretty good year after an early setback & surprised many a crow fan with his ability to hold a key defensive role in our side, he just needs a bit more muscle & confidence to take the next step,

Kenny has definitely suprised me this year, as I reckon he was on target for being delisted at the beginning of 2002. However, we still stuffed up not getting Pav, but at least we didn't end up with a dud like Angwin.

Excuse my ignorance but when did we have a chance to get Pavlich? I know we were after him 12 months ago, but that was always wishful thinking since he was still under contract then.

When we could pick a 17 yo, Fantasia in his infinite wisdom chose Kenny over Pav.

Kenny was drafted late (the last pick if I remember correctly), Pavlich was still playing for his college and they would not release him to play for the Crows if he was drafted that year. Pavlich was taken by Freo the next year after he had finished his schooling. That was the thinking of the Crows recruiting staff in taking Kenny. Don't forget due to injuries in his first year he played a number of games at CHF as a 17 year old. Pavlich is very good but I, like a lot of others had written Kenny off and it was pleasing to see him become a solid player this year. I think he has played around the 50 game mark now and thus knows what is required of an AFL player.

For your info that was my first post in here and who said anything about comparing Kenny to Pavlich,not me,you did. I was merely saying how surprised I was by his efforts this year.
As for being a rabid fan, I have been a gold member since 93. I put my money where my mouth is so I have every right to speak my mind. Are you a member or merely a Board rat.

Not quite the case. He told clubs that he was happy to be drafted anywhere, but wanted to matriculate at Sacred Heart (?), and would happily relocate the year after. Nothing was said about him not being cleared to play for Port or the Crows. After all, he had no problem playing for Woodville-West Torrens that year.

Freo chose some dud that year as well instead of Pavlich

Freos advantage has been fnishing near the bottom almost every year nad threfore getting a high draft pick

Interesting...

This has not been my experience of the people on this board. I've found everyone to be constructive and enlightened even in disagreement. It's usually only people who support other teams who blast Crows people, not Crows people blasting each other.

It's one of those things that make me proud to be an Adelaide Crows supporter. Hopefully you have this experience here too jarmaniac.

This is soooooo old! I have had it up to my eye balls with the Kenny V's Pavlich debate.

We didn't choose Pavlich, neither did 14 other teams. Sorry but I don't think James Fantasia has a crystal ball to look into the future! We chose Kenny. He has been a big improver this year and the future is looking good for him. Kenny needs our support and encourgement and we should all be behind him.
