Sydney a quality side, were always going to come. I'm just glad we had the composure not to sh!t the bed in the end

Still watching from home. After a few consecutive sydney goals, I couldn't bare to watch it if we lost after half time, so I checked the scores.

All I can say, us fade outs in the second half? Thought we did 40% more running do we can run over teams? Where is it?

Stoked with the win, just feel really lucky.

Exactly, cracking game top sides win anyway, can't play a perfect 4 quarters. Power led port by 50 & hung on as well, games ebb & flow you jut got get the result, I myself am ecstatic with the result. :D

We won the game by setting up a massive lead at halftime.

Sydney are a quality unit, who are coached by a quality coach. I'll take the win any day of the week.

Great first half.

Longmire is a great coach though so made the right changes at half time and we were spanked in the second half in clearances, contested ball, I50, uncontested ball. Everything.

Sydney shut down a lot of our outside run for most of the night - Pearce, Hill, Barlow (link up player) couldn´t get near it.

Neale shut down. I think that was a big reason for us losing the clearances. He is the one at the bottom getting the ball out to Mundy and Co. Hence Mundy also had a quiet game.

At the end it was our efficiency going forward that won us that game (...but but Freo have no KPF!!).

Less possessions, less I50, fewer clearances, fewer uncontested possessions, fewer shots on goal, fewer marks I50.

Yet we won.

I think we were quite lucky to be honest. If we take anything away from this game - we should take this: we have a bloody lot to work on.

Sydney figured our structures out in the second half. One of the great things about the Swans team is that they have several players who have Crowley´s shut down ability but also win the ball.

They are, but it doesn't take away from the fact we were dismal in the third.

Never said that it did mate. We were terrible, again, in the third quarter. But Sydney were terrible in the first half as well. Quality teams find a way to turn the game, halt momentum and get the game on their terms. We did that in the 4th quarter.

Hill had 9 or 10 touches in the third quarter.

Eventually , We missed a few sitters in the 4th which increased the pressure on us.

Yeah, we did, and yes, Sydney are quality. If last years GF was played tomorrow, you'd have to favor Sydney on Current form. I'm just disapointed that a big part of Sydney kicking away was due to guys not getting back, slow ball movement, fumbles.

I'd imagine Sydney fans would be equally pissed about their first half.

I'm glad we managed to arrest it in the last ten minutes though.

Is it just me or is Barlow a bit off at the moment? Only got 11 possessions and was quiet last week too from memory.
Neale had 42 last week and 9 this week. Depends on the opposition I suppose.

What a win! To be undefeated after those fixtures is a massive achievement.

Think the loss of Crowley and Dawson has been a blessing in disguise. Instead of two pure shut down players in the team we now have options in the team who want the ball and can use it. Has helped us improve when attacking.

Sydney are a quality side and I expected them to come back in the second half. Still, our effort wasn't there in that 3rd quarter. Probably the worst quarter in recent years. When they kicked first two goals of the last quarter I really thought we'll lose. Kudos to the players for arresting Sydney's momentum. It was a good win.

Also, Suban played very well in the first half, nearly gave him votes. However he's becoming as big a duck as Shuey or Selwood. I don't like it at all and if he keeps going he'll get seriously hurt one day.
