Contradicted himself and presuming he saw the first game of the season he would have seen Elano use his pace to make Upson and Anton look like carthorses.

Once again embers is far from the mark.

Upson is slow. Anton aint really quick either but they somehow work it out. Elano isnt Nobby Solano slow but for a world class superstar which you are claiming him to be putting him on the same pedastel as ie Fabregas Anderson Ronaldo hes slow as hell

Because you said Petrov is City's #1 threat and the first to be marked by opponents, and then two posts later said opponents close down Elano quicker so he can't pass the ball. Therefore, Elano is the first player opponents close down and not Petrov. Hence, contradiction.

You simply do not know what you are talking about. And I have never compared Elano to Fabregas or Ronaldo, and have never claimed that he is a world class superstar.

Anderson, currently, is on an entirely different level to Ronaldo and Fabregas. Silly even comparing them.

Fair enough. What I mean is for example. When we played City. We had Neill aswell as Bowyer who moved down the right to block off Petrov.

We played our DCM Mullins on Elanos feet all day. In this case I think we marked Petrov by having 2 guys on him and just had 1 guy harass Elano and put the challenges in when needed. Its beginning to happen more often where teams play a more defensive minded RW to help the RB cope with Petrovs pace and just have the one player in the middle marking Elano.

Id expect many teams to start playing a 4-5-1 vs City and play them at their own game

Then what is Elano, half decent. Okay. You are sitting on the fence

Cos Elano doesnt posses the pace of a Anderson or a Ronaldo or a Messi or a world class superstar.

Right now, Anderson is nowhere near a world class superstar.

Elano is an effective player and he'd be a regular in most Premier League sides.

Of course not hes only 18. ON TALENT, 2 words people fail to understand. ON TALENT alone he is easily in the top 3. Hes more talented then Elano and if we were chosing who we wanted to add to our teams squad tommorrow we would choose Anderson over Elano every day of the week

Indeed.

City really could've used the sublime magic of Anderson out there just then.

Yep, if he got his 1 assist in 15 games it would have been very handy. Or maybe he could have knocked the ball past a couple of players and shot wide causing another mass w@nkfest on BF.

I thought Elano was pretty decent on the day FWIW, our biggest threat definately.

Elano did look most dangerous.

I can't really even think of any moment when any other player than him or City did something even remotely threatening. (besides the goal)

Infact, there was a near superb pass from Gelson that Petrov (I think) failed to get to. Apart from him and that. Not much to choose from.

As for Anderson, what would you do if you were dominating for 12 weeks then asked to play behind old man Scholes, limited Hargreaves and Carrhack? Not much the poor guy can do. And further to that, he's been played quite defensively by Ferguson. Making it harder for him to impact happenings further up the field with any direct involvement.

1) Relevance?? Pretty sad really.

2) Not even close - the only thing you could tell the Getafe defenders didn't do, was kick him over.

Well said Embers.

Anderson is a ****ing gun. From the first few games he played for us you knew the kid was quality. The thing that i love about him is that here you have this 18yr old kid, comes to a brand new league, isn't the biggest bloke in the world and he is prepared to stand up for himself and not back down when he gets kicked etc. He has that arrogance about him. Love that. He's the sort of player that if he doesn't play for your club, you'd hate him. Kinda like Ronaldo really. I'm just stunned at how quickly this kid has adapted to the EPL and amazed at the quality he's managing to keep on the bench. Can't wait to see what Anderson becomes in a few season's time.

I dont think ive ever seen a more complete young midfielder ever. His passing is exceptional. His tackling is immense. Hes got a great shot on him, His dribbling is fantastic (that play in the first half when he ran from the middle to the box nearly getting in was sublime). Scholes will never see a starting place again with this bloke in the side.

Only a matter of 2-3 years before hes the best player in the world. Remember he just came of a broken leg too which makes it all the more remarkable.

18 million very well spent
It's been 2 or 3 years.

And in that time hes been the most injury prone player around. Done his knee, nearly died etc.

ATM hes been frozen out by Alex merely because of his attitude. Anderson tried to organise a move away from Man United and it fell through last year. The sooner he leaves Man U the better. I still think purely based on talent hes got the ability to be one of the top few players in the world. Hes just not gonna realise his ability while hes still with Man U

Dam this was a bad call, feel free to make one about wilshere though.

Im putting this into the too early to call category.

When your right 90% of the time you gotta be wrong 10% of the time I spose. This might be one of them but lets wait a little on that one

No one is a better judge of player talent than me but recently I have been wrong in regards to certain teams. Blackpool and West Brom mainly. Didnt take into account two of the best managers in the league working there magic and something i rarely factor into it

Embers was WRONG!

Wilshere wont be in the top 200 players in the world at any point in his career.

Not really. Anderson is a deadset gun whenever he plays. Sir Alex is just too much of a control freak to give him more opportunities. Anderson should be playing every game. Instead we have limpdicks like Owen Hargreaves limping off.

Alex tried to turn Anderson into a DCM which well he isnt. Hes as much a DCM as Alan Smith is a striker.....

Anderson is just an example of a player ruined by horrible coaching.
