Final Phantom Draft ( 2 Rounds)

Obviously a few picks will change hands on draft night due to live trading and picks will move down depending where bids come.

Baldwin is definitely gettable for Essendon, id have his range 5-20 currently. If Essendon have 2 first round picks (daniher leaving) theyll definitely be eyeing off either Thilthorpe or Baldwin and doddoro doesnt mind picking SA boys.

Thank you.

Also don't mind snagging a Croweater.

I'm neither here nor there about Joe but, if he's traded, so be it.

If he stays, same.

I’ve been re watching a whole lot of footage from last season in the past couple of weeks and I’ll be updating my rankings in the next week or so. Not sure if I’ll re-release just the top 30 or 40 at this stage. Seeing as national championships were meant to be kicking off around this time, I’ll also release my predicted best 23 for Vic metro and country. While also looking at some of the key match-ups/ players at champs if they were taking place as planned.

So who wins?

Does Metro's midfield shade Country's? but Country have the stronger forward line, which gets them over the line.

I think metro win by about 3 or 4 goals. Cox can handle Ugle-Hagan. Metro's tall forwards is their weakness but they make up by having so many dangerous medium types in Perkins, Ford, Laurie, Cardillo, Stone even throw in Sonsie who would most likely play through there as well.

Hi all
Long time draft follower but first time running a thread. Im very excited about up coming season as ive always been bullish on this draft class, with my belief that it is a lot stronger than many in the media have given it credit for. The class is littered with an abundance of tall talent which is exciting to see, as a lot of previous drafts top talent has mainly been midfielders.

It will also be a very intriguing National Championships as currently (barring injuries) the Allies will take in the strongest squad they've ever had (currently 9 players in my top 50) and will go close to winning it, which would be an amazing effort and great success story for AFL.

I will be heading to at least 1 nab league game a week and will be posting my take aways/ top players of the day.

It was so disappointing to here the news about my early number 1 Elijah Hollands getting injured at training, as he such an exciting talent and outstanding individual. I hope that no other serious injuries occur and all the prospects are able to put their best foot forward and show off the talents they possess over the coming season.

March rankings:
Obviously it is very early in the piece and there will be plenty of changes to this list over the coming months. The current list is based of performances over the past 24 months (u16 champs and underage year), while also considering their potential scope for improvement from my personal opinion.

Bit interested to see that you’ve got brandan walker in your top 50 but no sign of Joel western another one of fremantles NGA boys

His size will hold him back a bit, as other go past him. He’s just outside my top 50, but will get taken by freo regardless so it doesn’t really matter. Brandon walker will be a big riser in my updates rankings, after watching more vision on him I’ve underrated how good he is. He has the ability to be a serious weapon at afl level.

He has tools but never has the ball. Will count against him I think.

Recruiter Matt Rendell ( most recently collingwood)was just on Sen discussing this years draft and so on, he said some very interesting things.
Some interesting takeaways :

- Most likely no champs this year
- Vic metro will play Country in a game/ games
- Will be an exhibition game on grand final day like the futures game, except it’ll be this current draft crop again.
- He has Reef Mcinnes in the 20-30 range but he has a back problem and might not play this year.
- rated Cody raak potential top 20 (very surprising)
- Really excited by Sandringhams ruck after watching him in a practice match against oakleigh. Said he wasn’t on the radar last year but he rates him as a top 15 selection now.
- Really rates Jones port Adelaide NGA
- Was really keen on this years draft crop, said it has plenty of depth and stacks up to previous years.
- Said Nick Daicos is one of the best juniors he’s seen for his age and is potential pick 1 for ‘21 and definitely should go top 5.

Any chance you can expand on what he said about Raak? He’s pretty highly rated by the draft followers on our board as well.

He didn’t go into detail just said bulldogs are lucky this draft with obviously JUH and Cody raak who he rated potential top 20. Was surprising for me because I watched a few games jets games live last year ( and a praccy this year) and I’d have Cody in the 40-60 range at best, doesn’t have the best agility* or speed and is undersized at 191/192 for a key.

Can you tell me about Zach Reid and Nick Cox.. both talls.
Cox and Reid are two that have currently down as tall utilities and could be turned into anything to fill a need by the potential club that picks them up. Personally i'd have both settled down as Key backs. Cox played at both ends (kicked 4 against bendigo) in his underage year while Reid was used down back and in the ruck. Both read the play well, move great, are good by foot and have good composure with ball in hand. Both boys are currently wafer thin but once they fill out they could become dominate players in the afl system, and both have some of the biggest potential upside in this years draft crop. Cox also has elite endurance (low 6 minutes for 2km) and could even play on a wing at AFL level while he fills out into a KPD role, who ever gets him will get an absolute gem. Both boys should go in the first round anywhere between 5-20.

Any chance to slide to 2nd round of the draft?

The only things that surprised me from what he said was the Sandy Ruck he rates very highly (Heath?) and Cody Raak calls, everything else was similar to what has been discussed on here, JUH and Will Phillips getting big wraps and he name dropped Bruhn and a lot of f/s and academies guys, also he thinks this draft is deep and there's a strong top tier for 2021 draft.
