That wont be happening for too much longer. You only need to look at the talented youth on our list to see it will click soon enough. We are void a couple of good mids and then games played.

Charlie Curnow
Cripps
Docherty
Weitering
McKay
SPS
Dow
Fisher
O Brien
Marchbank
Kennedy
Plowman
Williamson
Cuningham

Add to that a top 3 pick this year and if Gaff did come on board, it doesnt look so bad over the next few years imo
That list is a real worry and Gaff would know that. This game I am watching now is unbelievably bad. The Blues are miles off it and they doesn’t look like changing soon imo.

I can see how you think that. 6 of those aren't playing. We still have dead wood to remove from our list. That will happen come the end of this year. I believe next year will also be tough. But we have a good base imo

Which is why Gaff won't consider the Blues.

Every club does mate. If you think players are short sighted i think you're under estimating the person themselves
Why would he consider Carlton when there teams ahead of Carlton and more ready to go that fit within Gaff's timeline? Melbourne, North, Hawthorn, etc are better options for Gaff than Carlton and that really can't be disputed. At 26 why would he waste years of his career hoping that the Blues pan out the way you think they will? Simply doesn't make sense for him.

Why did lewis choose Melbourne when he could have choosen Richmond? He has wasted his final years...

Why did Tyson, hibberd, melksham, vince, garlett etc choose Melbourne when they did? Because they saw the youth Melbourne had and saw a future.

If you think carlton wont rise within the next 2 years you are well off.

We had shown substantially more than Carlton.

- Carlton wanted to move on Garlett, Melbourne simply jumped at that.
- Hibberd and Melksham wanted to move on from Essendon after the drugs saga and had a connection with Goodwin.
- Tyson wanted to return to Victoria and Melbourne offered GWS a trade they wanted.
- Vince wanted to stay at Adelaide but wasn't going to be guaranteed games and Adelaide wanted to get back into the draft after the Tippett fiasco.
- Lewis had to be talked into moving clubs and again at that stage we were far ahead of where Carlton are now.

You've shown nothing at this present time that the Blues are worth a look in, there is only one reason he would go to Carlton right now and that is an absolutely insane financial reason.

All players still choose Melbourne. So think of this what you will. I don't think gaff will leave let alone choose carlton. However we all know a team can turn it around quickly. Your team has been rabble for so long, but players saw light and choose Melbourne. I for one congrats Melbourne for selling their team to players to join the journey. It can happen.

Best of luck for the rest of the year!

lightning can hit the same spot twice with carlton. i remember similar type of talk of 'look at our list, we've got 4 no.1 picks in the same team and judd, how did that turn out.' also the 'oh look we just down the bottom for a few seasons and get a top 3 pick this year to add one more to the list. If you are in an under-performing team for too long, then your abilities will be stunted. its just like classrooms, if you are in a shit class, then even the good students will be like what the ****, whatever man i just do the minimum.

Free agents move for immediate success, not to toil their prime years away in rebuilding teams. The exceptions are generally players who are past their prime and are offered much more than they’re actually worth, like Mayne and Wells :(

There's no way he would choose Carlton and there's now way Carlton should make Gaff a target.

They have structural issues to address first.

You forgot Collingwood as an option.

You also said there's no way North would even consider trading for Gaff.

Maybe you should take a break from pretending to know what definitely will or won't happen.

Dude what is this obsession you have with him following him around and trying to turn everything into an argument?

I could address it, but would that be the end of it? Could he then move on with his life? Sadly no, he is 100% committed to derailing a thread simply because he is triggered by the idea of losing a good player.

He'd be back again, then back again, then back again......ad infinitum. Not just me, others as well.

I called his mania early in the piece. 3 months ago. March 15th actually:

It's going to be a long year for you mate. Good luck.:thumbsu:
I feel for the man's health if this drags out in to October.

Why would North trade for him?
With our cap position we can just offer a heavily front ended contract that WC can't afford to match.

You could always choose a new username (again) and stop posting drivel, that might throw Sweet Jesus off the scent.

1) Not interested in any bullshit like that, I am just not that invested in it.
2) My posting is elite considering what passes for comment on this website (43 thousand likes).

Not interested in any further off topic extrapolations from you either. Jog along.

It all depends on whether

a) Gaff wants to come to us.
b) Gaff & management expect North to pay a fair price for him
c) West Coast would throw us some late pick points by way of compensation.

The two clubs have good relations, and since North tabled the notion that the 1st pick was on the table for a trade, I can't see North being playing hard ball with them.
