Based on the distribution, let's say that under 30% contested possession = pure outside player, 30-50% means a bit of both, and over 50% = pure inside.

Of the pure outside players (disregarding Riley Bonner the 1-gamer), Gaff is dead last in kicking efficiency, at just under 60%. The average is about 70%, and the top performers are over 80%.

Now we all love Gaffy and he consistently racks up the numbers. But for a long, long time, Priddis was given a hard run on this forum for lots of possession with poor disposal - and he plays at the coalface, under immense pressure with every touch.

Despite everyone's expectations that Gaff, Priddis, Shuey and Mitchell will perform this year and our team performance depends on the fringe midfielders, I think Gaff HAS to clean up his kicking for our midfield to be rated as elite. If he gets his average up to 70% or higher, with the amount of possession he finds, we are much more likely to dominate.
