I reckon Andy has been a pretty good player for the Oakleigh chargers this year, hasnt racked up too many possessions or dominated a game but he is consistent and solid. He also reads the play well as well.

What do you guys think he's chances of getting drafted is?

I reckon a late 3rd round + pick or definately a rookie listing.

A nice backup defender, who will probably go late in the draft if any clubs are interested.
Might be considered as a rookie listed player in the December draft if he is not picked up this month.
The Kangaroos said they are willing to place alot of players on their rookie list, so if I had to bet where he was going to go I would say Arden street.

play cricket with him. loves the chatter out on the field, good future leader if he gets the opportunity. not overly tall but is built solidly and knows how to play the game. could be a good prospect on a half back flank.

MY mate spoke to him the other day and he said that he would love to stay in Melbourne with his family, friends and etc. However, he end up at Port becasue of his brother.

There are so many potential draftees............there is bound to be alot of talents not picked up.
bsk2002 i don't want to sound too critical but can you please try and refrain from stating the 'bleeding' obvious. ;)

I was just stating that know one should get their hopes up that Andrew Gilham will be drafted, because he most likely wont
well according to the posts most suggest that he might. I didn't read anywhere anyone getting their hopes up.

I'm surprised he hasn't been pegged as a Port Adelaide target, considering we've got his brother and are replacing our backline.
Would we consider him with our last pick just for that reason.......or try and pick him up as a rookie.

he'll should go round 40-60. he is at an awkward height, but has a great grab and spoil. oakleigh played him in the forward line in the finals series and proved that he can play down back and up forward.

Gilham could and should go anywhere after pick 40. He seems to have more natural ability than Stephen (his brother) and would be a great acquisition at any club. He does love to talk the talk but he is very good at it and it can be very effective in frustrating his opposition, he also has the ability to back it up on and off the field (he is devout amateur kickboxer).

Although it is a long way off, if his football allows him to he could be a franchise player for a club. He would handle himself very well on the footyshow and would be equally entertaining. I'm quite confident he would be able to assume a comedic role in 'The House of Bulger' and he would also relish the end of season review, which would afford him the opportunity to convey his dancing talents. :D

As for his football, IMO his height allows him to play tall and small rather than neither. He could play KP but is equally adept on the ground. He has good pace for his size a good leap and his greatest attribute is his excellent pair of hands.

The thing that separates Gilham from his physially equivalent competitors is his football brain. Gilham has an uncanny knack of reading the play and getting the football. His football brain allows him the opportunity to adapt to conditions and various positions and he is more than able to play on the ball, up forward, down back or a kick behind play.

I have no doubt that Gilla (aka Rockstar) will make it in the AFL if he wants to, irrespective of the outcome of the draft.

Good Luck Gill,
Wellsy! :)

im not sure 186-7 is the perfect height for a flanker. if he has the speed and agility he would have no problems.

190cm is the devils height if u play like a pure KPP. simply not big enough, u need to be very agile and quick.
