their is certainly a case for Macca pushing forward

however, Macca play's HB like an extra midfielder, his run and carry is critical, his leadership to a symes or gallman will be priceless

I would rather see Jacky, Edwards, Proplyzia or Douglas play that small foprward role

Douglas should play in the middle. Porps isnt really a crumber type forward, hes more of a flanker. Edwards could play that role but i would much prefer to see Jacky up there. Its too early to say if Jackys ready or not though yet.

I've said it a couple of times too (Merry Christmas everyone... Ive been in Adelaide for some R&R, but back on deck now)... McLeod would be lethal up forward. Not for set-shots so much as setting up goals. Four or five of his lightening quick and accurate hand-passes would result in goals every game.

Move Goody or Edward into McLeod's defensive role - neither of them are slouches with the ball either, and that move could prolong one of their footy lives too. It also gives one of the younger blokes important time in the middle.

You can't buy the magic that Macca has... let's use it to our best advantage!

Macca creates so much run and thrust from half back I think it would be very unwise for him to go forward.

So hopefully we won't have to worry about it.

BTW, why on earth would Bock play HBF? haha

I think the quarterback tag is appropriate when it comes to the role we've given McLeod...

We create space for him in the backfield, give him time to move the ball, and use his ability to read the game to find the open player, pass it to them and set up our attacking drive.

That would be a great move. He can lead, crmb and take big marks. I don't know who can match up on him.

But IMO, McLeod is best as a back flanker, it's where he should be...

Actually I think Edwards is a likely sort to spend much more time up forward this year.

- We know he can do it well, he's done it before.
- We may not need him as much through the midfield if Douglas and Vince are given a run each week.
- Macca is too valuable moving the ball 80 meters with every posession he gets in the backline.
