Toast Andrew Moore

Following some inappropriate posts, just getting ridiculous now

Andrew Moore is modelling his game on Josh Kennedy. And Zac Milbank notes the similarities (Be advised the following link contains AdelaideNow/Advertiser content).

Andrew Moore stretched for success

Moore - 189cm and 88kg - is modelling himself on Kennedy - 188cm and 96kg - as the AFL's most formidable force when it comes to winning clearances and contested possessions with his sizeable frame. "There's a lot of good midfielders but it has to be Josh Kennedy from the Sydney Swans," said Moore when asked who he was trying to emulate.

"He bases his game on the inside and winning the contested ball. I've watched a lot of vision of him and that's what I need to work on and get good at. He's playing so well and he's a similar body shape to me so that's who I've been basing my game on."

Moore also gives Josh Francou credit for his development.

"We looked at it (his role) pretty hard, particularly with the (Port) development coaches Tyson Edwards, Matthew Nicks and Daniel Healy.

"They've been fantastic for me trying to concentrate on my role in the midfield, becoming an inside player by winning the hard ball. That's been a massive part of my game I've been trying to develop.

"It's worked over the last couple of weeks and especially having Josh Francou there as well, we all know how he played in the midfield, so having him (coach Moore in the SANFL) helps a fair bit as he's helping my game too."

And the absence of injury is credited with his rise this year.

The other aspect speeding up Moore's development is the absence of groin soreness this year.

"I feel as if I haven't given the club much over the past few years.

"My body hasn't helped me out much but I'm extremely determined to repay the faith the club has got in me. It's so important to finish off this year well."

Footage would be interesting. It was a 3 week suspension down by 25% because he has a good record - I assume that goes back to 2009 and his U/18 days and 25% for early plea so 325 pts down to 182 pts. Not sure if the carry over pts is only for SANFL games.

Ok a head slam sling tackle is going to get games. Surprised it was 3 weeks before discounts, but probably injury to south player was the difference between starting with 3 instead of 2, before discounts.

That's the sort of physicality Andrew needs to bring each and every time he plays. I love how he did it in the first 10 seconds of the game too.

He's a touch unlucky the kids head hit the ground and 1 weeks probably fair. Hopefully the suspension doesn't deter him one little bit.

If Moore could do that on Josh Kennedy at the SCG in a months time then I will be happy. Unfortunately JPK is about 10cm taller and 14kgs heavier than Cross.

Gee, you can't really do much physical these days without risking suspension.

Whoever approved the guernsey combo for that game should get a life ban from the sport.

I am a huge fan of the magpies guernsey and it's probably the best guernsey design there is.

But unfortunately the number panel does cause clashes because it's a big block of white on a black guernsey. It reminded me a bit of the Carlton game from last year, but probably not quite as bad.

The alternative was for South to wear all navy with white shorts which arguably would have been just as bad.

I still don't understand this suspension. What did he actually do wrong? It honestly just seems like bad luck that Cross' head hit the ground.

he is being suspended for being a far stronger player. if the opposition puts in kids thats cant take a full tackle, then the club is at fault. i dont like to see guys hurt, but its a rough game, dont play them if they arent ready.

I guess once you've got someone locked in a tackle, the idea is to sink to your knees and bring them down and roll them to the side rather than throw them around like a rag doll.

Don't change your style at all, Andrew. That's what we want to see from you.

Didn't Thomas get off on a similar incident back in at the start of the year? SANFL softer than the AFL.

Our players get reported at crap times as well. Moore within the first 10 seconds on the game, the one last week in the last 5 seconds of the half. I know it doesn't make a difference as to when it happens but it is just bad timing.

Very weak suspension, they clearly want to rub our players out this season, no surprise there. Was Slattery's worth six weeks or whatever bullshit he got?
