What do you expect from young Raines next season?

Turns 20 about the start of the season. Played 6 games last season.

Raines, I really have a fair bit of belief that he can make it at the top level. Moreso than Roach or Jackson. He has so much skill and poise about him.

Definitely a few games in the NAB cup, we need a lot of players to try and perform in that.

I'm a bit of a fan. But because he doesn't have super pace, IMO he needs to develop a left side because at this stage he doesn't have the pace, evasive ability or strength to be able to find his right foot everytime.

Good pre-season and has been flying in the intra-club. Was outstanding at Vic Park.

Back pocket, small defender we have been searching for? Good skills, great run.

Certainly wouldnt say he was outstanding yesterday, he was playing against a VFL team with AFL players feeding him the ball in an end to end game. I think most players on our list would have looked ok yesterday playing his role. Im not sure his defensive skills are good enough for tha back pocket, half back role and good teams will take advantage of this. IMO Hartigan, Newman and Joel will provide enough run out of defence for us. It may seem harsh but i just dont think this guy will make it, but i will be as happy as anyone if he does.

Will be a wingman IMO. Should be played there during the NAB and if he can perform then give him a go in the official stuff

I have faith in him...Personally I reckon he has a better chance than Roach and Jackson

Well he can stop pushing. He has done enough to say he is a walk up start for round 1.

Yeah?

If everyone is fit it'll be intersting to see how Wallace rates the like of Tambling, Raines, Hyde, Rodan, Hartigan, Foley, Jackson, Meyer etc.

More so Chaffey and Tivendale compared to the younger crop.

Well i dont see the likes of Tambling, Rodan, Foley , Meyer playing in the back line which is were raines will be.

Mark my words he will be in the starting 22 in round 1.

Wouldn't hurt a Tambling or Meyer to play in the backline this season.

They'd take to it alot better than on a wing or the forward line.

Much easier to play with the ball comming towards you rather than having to create the play.

Deledio doesn't seem to have much trouble creating the play

if meyer plays this year it will be in the forward line not backline

He'd get alot more of the pill and find it easier going off a back flanker rather than the forward line.
