so you're saying we're expending more energy / covering more ground each week?
Aussie vernacular - running around like headless chooks

I am saying we need to control the ball more, like we saw on the weekend. More short kicks and Mark's compared to previous weeks

Most times this year, we are running, en masse, ahead of an undisputed ball, then en masse, running back to cover the counter

What’s it got to do with Fitness? We spent the day relaxing at home and they were waiting around at airports and flying. Travelling takes a lot out of you even if it’s only Adelaide. We are not fit enough, you can see in games where we cant run in the last.
Uhh. Still nothing to do with fitness. 'travel takes a lot out of you'. This is laughable right? You don't see that? You don't lose your aerobic capacity or muscle definition and conditioning because you got one tiny flight from Adelaide to Melbourne that was delayed an hour....

That's what teams do, on occasions the tempo play, is so numbers can get in front of the ball, or asking the umpire 5 times which oppo's free it is before you give it back
or standing over the ball making it difficult for the kicker to take his ball, or delay the give back to the boundary umpire,
those precious seconds, mean getting back or not.
If the game plan is stymied because coaches do not have confidence in the fitness of cattle, or conversely, needs to be changed because of same, or you don't have the personnel for roles, or you have multiple players that play the same role, you have a massive problem.

No one here will know this

By your logic, people with muscles and fitness can’t get tired. I didnt say travelling makes you lose your muscles or your aerobic capacity, but it does tire you out.

Particularly bigger blokes.

Guys like Harry, TDK and Levi would be knackered after a plane trip.

100%. This is how Hawthorn won flags. Also need to hit targets. No matter how fit, missing targets causes turnovers and continuous running forward and back. Also need better kicks coming into the forward line, waiting for someone to break free and present, targeting someone in space, rather than bombing to a pack or near a boundary line. This seems to be where we fall down most times.

None of this comment makes sense.... 3-4 weeks of letting an injury recover is going to see you lose fitness compared to pro athletes, of course you then need a small block of fitness training.

It makes perfect sense as players come back after a “fitness block” unfit for AFL football.

Why do we fade out of games every week?

Either he doesn’t have players prepared for our game style or the game style needs to change as we have the wrong players to fullfill it.

Or the game style is unsustainable regardless of the players you could potentially amass.

These are not the only 2 possibilities.
