Cooney's career will never be what it could of been, and that is particularly sad. Walker may have the better career, but not because he is better then Cooney.

Try and butcher grammar more. Also, Walker has to do a s**t load to even get close to Cooney.

way to miss the point.
And your point is?
Cooney has only ever had one full preseason and has struggled with injuries for most of his career. Even now, his knee is bone on bone and last year his knee would be swollen for days after a match.

And yet Walker has only just come on two years after being trade bait.

wow, hmm. ok. i was certainly not down playing the extent of cooney's injury. was simply stating that tex had many seasons of massive shoulder problems and this was a huge factor in him not coming on quicker.

is that making more sense?

Walker was not trade bait, he asked for a trade because he wasn't enjoying his football playing mostly as a defender.

When a home couldn't be found for Walker, because we weren't prepared to give him away (Adelaide looked at him, but they had already committed to Tambling so didn't have a good enough pick to trade), Ratts sat down with Walker & it was agreed he would spend more time forward, as well as having some time in the midfield. This turned out to be a win for both Walker & the club, with 58 goals in 2011 being a fantastic return for a player who always had more to offer than being a running defender.

Settle down my fellow Bluebaggers, please
Walker wouldn't get near a fully fit Cooney, injuries have closed the gap somewhat though.
It's a silly thread.

If Walker hadn't recovered from his shoulder reconstructions, he would be in the same boat as Cooney. Or Mclean whose game and mobility have been hurt by chronic leg injuries. Mclean would still be playing if he had Armfield's or Joseph's pace.

Walker deserves to be pumped up but this is a very poor way of going about it.

What Walker has done is justify his number 2 selection in the draft. There's a few that went after him who've had better careers but from here on in, there wouldn't be more than 2 or 3 who would ahead of him.

Let's not forget he actually had a pretty decent first 50 or so games. 3/4 years of constant injuries made him frustrated and perhaps dispensible to the team but he's become an excellent footballer with his effort and accuracy in front of goal.

Was a fumble away from another Goal of the Century contender last night. :(
