UnRichmonding is a lengthy process. He'll come good.

I hope he proves myself and plenty of others wrong.
But he was just a player at Richmond. We took him as we had almost no other option.
At 23 years of age he's only played 27 games. I don't know his injury history though. With the likes of Setanta being delisted, Andrew can't be that far off the bottom of the list himself.
If he proves me wrong I'll go down to brumby's and order the biggest slice of humble pie they have in stock. And I'll do it with a huge smile on my face.
And no, I'm not basing this on the 2 games be played this year.
I just can't see who he'll overtake if our list tracks as expected.
We still have a young 22 and plenty of players ahead of him at the ants.
if we wrote players off after their first two games, simpson would have fallen well short of the consecutive games record he has going at the moment. Collins has been injured and I suspect they are treating him how they treated warnock when he first came to the club. get your body right, get used to the club and environment (he did come from richmond so he is probably STILL in awe of our standards compared to that rabbles). He will be solid.

Very unfair of certain posters pulling the trigger on Collins, especially after being dished up a difficult season.
Strong pre-season and he will be pushing for a spot in the firsts, for sure.
You'd think McLean, Thornton and maybe Kerr would be in line before AC
I agree, but you can see the problems there when we can't name more than three, with one being a possible loss this year yet, another being given every chance to roll on another year if good form eventuates and a 19y.o. that the coaches really rate.
If Mclean does get dealt through to Essendon this year, we'll still top up our numbers on the senior list whether by a selection on #62 or an upgrade for Tuohy or Curnow.
Huh? Have I missed something? Isn't trade time done and dusted?![]()
Well let's not sugar-coat it, his two games this year were some of the worst I've seen from anyone in a Carlton jumper. He needs to prove himself this year, or he'll be on the way out. Needs to take a bath in bleach to get the Richmond stain out.
I'll second that. Almost as bad as Joe Anderson's games of football. Remains to been what happens with him though. Good be a gun or just a flop.
To be honest some players will be under the gun next year, more likely the players who contract is up. There be certain players that won't have the luxury of a 3rd season like Longmuir, Hadley and Chambers received in weaker list.Well let's not sugar-coat it, his two games this year were some of the worst I've seen from anyone in a Carlton jumper. I watched the Collingwood game from round three again and Collins didn't actually have a bad game. The only poor play he had was one bad handball that Yarran called for when he shouldn't have that cost us a goal just before 3QT. Apart from that he did nothing wrong in that game, but that handball tends to stick in people's memories.
I've seen all of his VFL games at the Bullant's and I think Collins is a class act who would have established his position in our forward line had he been fit.
Well let's not let the truth get in the way of a poor story, Teagueee.
Many of us watched Collins through the pre-season and were genuinely excited for our aquisition.
Quite frankly, I couldn't believe we got him for Grigg.
That Essendon game was not a true representation of Collins, but I guess that's what many saw, remembered and base their judgements upon.
Our forward set-up could well afford Collins amongst it next year, but he may just be fighting for that spot with Gibbs to some degree.
Gibbs/Collins Waite Garlett
Betts ................. Walker.
Collins is the player that I'm most excited about going into next season. The direction that the game is heading with reduced interchanges, to be a top four team you need your midfielders to be able to hurt the opposition by resting in the forward line and you will also need your forwards to be able to add to your midfield depth in a rotation even if it's only for five minutes a quarter. Collingwood have been excellent at this over the past 24 months with Sidebottom, Swan, Didak, Thomas, Blair and Krakour able to either be a midfielder who has scoreboard impact up forward, or a forward who can rotate through the midfield. With the elite endurance that Collins possesses and his one on one marking strength, I see him as being a player who can be apart of our midfield rotations and also rest in the forward line and have scoreboard impact.
