Sounds like the "new" Mick Doughty.
 
The new Mick Doughty is a foetus.

Seeing as he was in the midfield group we were already going to see a 3rd tall replacement, now we'll need to see a mid replacement as well.

Davis and Talia to fight for that 3rd tall with Davis my likely.

Cook and Sloane to fight for the middle slot....Sloane, but the Cookie monster to force his way in anyway with his 'take no prisoners attitude' ...seen below.

An absolute shocker to happen, and my favourite player of the "new bunch", but he isn't irreplacable. Phil Davis and Tony Armstrong will be given an opportunity to play a similar role. Not saying they will be as good in the role, but it's not like we have zero options there. Let's just hope he has a full 12 month recovery and slots back in 2011.

:p.....no I mean't the opportunity for Davis and even McKernan

But that Stevens was probably, based on his experience" the front runner ......was probably the situation anyway given Otten was likely to play midfield

That opens the door for Petrenko, Jacky and Cook

Class-wise, we may look to rotate Porps, Edwards & Burton through the midfield (as well as forwards). With Thompson, Vince, Danger, Mackay, Reilly & VB main stays. Real opportunity now for a Cook, Sloane, Petrenko or Jacky to put their hand up for the spare spot.

Crap news on Otten & hope he has a smooth recovery - needs to take the full year, as has a huge career ahead of him.

Shocking news for Otten. It sucks that so many ACL's thesedays come from seemingly innocuous incidents.
Hope he can cope well with it mentally and come back strong in 2011.
Crows are a good side so I'm sure they'll still be right up there.

Btw, you should've seen the sheer panic on our board when the words Otten and knee went up....so we do feel for you guys.
 
Otten going down with an ACL is an absolute shitter of a thing to happen.

One can only assume how good he was going to be this year, given that he was building on to a top year last year. Possibly in the mid-field.

Personally, I think that Davis only has to show some form in the pre-season games to get the gig for Otten's role, with Stevens as the back-up in case Davis doesn't come through.

But IMO he will.
 
what bad luck for an up and coming star, even though I support the crows I'm pretty disappointed for Otten and the Crows that this has happened, cruel reality of our great game unfortunately

For **** bloody ******* sake! Why do we get so many ******* serious knee injuries? Two of our most promising youngsters are now going to be spectators in 2010. :thumbsd:

Might have to rookie list a delisted/SANFL player to cover for him.
 
I have ruptured an ACL, took me about 8 months before the reco was complete, mind you they surgeons would be better for the money your club would have :)
 
As one door closes on one player, another opens for others.

Armstrang and davis will now hopefully get some good game time, maybe young too?

i am hopeing to see more of cook, solane and i would love to say dougie steps into that elete mid group too as i feel he has more to give.


Has symes ever played in the middle? with a good PS he may have the fitness for it?
 
This is just horrible. I did my acl three times so I know how horrible it can be. Ptten won't be forgOtten.

So this means we can Elevate two rookies so far I guess. Who will it be?
