Yep, those guys in the standing room are great fans, and they were actually kicked out of the cheersquad a few years ago, no idea why, and it's not like the idiots left seem better behaved, or have any decent chants at all.

For mine, the cheersquad should be a place for kids to sit, like it was in the old days, yet I find it hard to even find anyone under 18 in our current cheersquad.

To be a part of the Official cheersquad you need a working with children check. Which i think is impossible for anyone under 18 to get.

I totally agree. It's ridiculous that it appears to be run by footy tragics who should have grown up years ago. It used to be something special for the kids to allow them to get involved in the club but now it looks like a club for no-hopers. Of course that's an unfair generalisation and I'm sure it's not entirely true but for mine, give it back to the kids!

They may here the odd choice expletive but at least you know your kids are safe around the cheer squad.

It is a bit of a joke, i think my 16 year old cousin wanted to join (PASSIONATE about collingwood) but they wouldn't let him.

Thats not the reason. It is possible for U18's to get working with childrens checks. Plus most of the people booted were 18+.

Justin Reeves cleaned all the "undesirables" out, most of those were people who like to have a drink, stand up and cheer loudly. Which offended the teetotalling overlord of the CS. All thats left is obsessed nutjobs and people with their lips firmly attached the club's private parts.

Our CS is bordering on worst in the league, little to no activity and downright embarrassing.

This is just a representation of the morons who direct the footy coverage at 7. No imagination whatsoever. Amongst the 60000+ people at your average Collingwood game you could find thousands of genuinely interesting, funny, passionate people to zoom in on but the dregs at 7 choose to focus on 'celebs', politicians, wags, or outofcontrol bogans. And now I find out that they're broadcasting the GWS vs Ess game tonight rather than Coll vs Adelaide????????????? How many brain cells do they have down there? Today's number is ONE.
