Brayshaw was much better without his helmet but his concussions unfortunately have seen his form turn to bad over the last couple of years. Stars like him should find their feet again I'm sure

It could end up brayshaw for brown

Pending a medical for brayshaw
Good luck with that, Melbourne has and will rebuff any interest in Brayshaw unless there was something significant coming back. Unless our first was coming back to us in a deal or we had a targeted player in mind which we'd need Brayshaw's salary off our books to get (e.g. Treloar) Melbourne wouldn't be interested.

Excuse my ignorance, but why is Brayshaw in trade discussions?
Somewhat out of form, gets pushed away from position due to new players coming in and sparrow mid time.
Clearly isn't upto best numbers (regular 25/30+ possessions) and a possible trade way player for a side looking at obtaining some trade capital.
All speculation but that's what big footy is about.

Sparrow hasn’t being playing mid
We have the trade capital for our trade targets

Sparrow has played mid the last few games. Was going 50/50 with viney.
No he wasn’t. Last 5 games of the year centre bounce attendees, no sparrow, Brayshaw had the most out of the midfielders against st Kilda, Injured against Sydney and missed the final 3 games.

Ok Sparrow didn’t play those games above. These are the games he played. He did get some midfield time, but only the Port game where Melbourne came off a 4 day break did Brayshaw have significantly less time in the midfield. Sparrow basically got a few runs in there to give them a chop out.

Many in the thread have discussed the fact that Melbourne have plenty like him and he often doesn’t get the centre square time that he’d probably wants with trac clarry and Viney the preferred trio

For that to happen Brayshaw would need to want to go to North - finish 18th for 3 years and then play out his career in Tasmania.

Not really sure what your point is here mate, Sparrow basically played 50/50 midfield forward in every game he played this year which is pretty well backed up by those stats, as well as if you factor in he had an average time on ground of 61.8%. Sparrow is a pure inside mid who would probably get better opportunity to play that at another club but he's great depth to have for us if one of our mids goes down.

I’m surprised he played as much centre square time as I do t really remember him in there. He played 55%, 32%, 40% and 23% midfield time from his 4 full games. He’s young and wouldn’t have the tank to be a full time midfielder.

Point is he in not pushing Brayshaw out of the midfield. Brayshaw had 40%, 68%, 95% and 73% in those same games. Brayshaw doesn’t need to be traded.

Sparrow took Harmes’ midfield time who was roughly 30% the 4 games prior to Sparrow coming in and then he dropped to 0.

Players need to to be versatile. Melbourne was one of 5 clubs to play two midfielders (not including ruckman) more than 75% of centre bounces (Oliver and Viney), Most clubs have one, some including Geelong have none.

Most midfields have multiple players running through, we need players like Sparrow rotating through the midfield from other positions. But he isn’t of Brayshaw’s quality to take his minutes in there.
