Okay, Angus might be quite a few things, but he's certainly not a) a piss head during the season, b) lazy and c) has a poor attitude.

He doesn't drink during the season. He likes a drink during the offseason, but most AFL players do, I could tell you some stories of some current North players that would make you want to throttle them.

For a bloke of limited ability, he's grafted a career purely from his work ethic, and gained a rookie list spot, purely on the back of his intensity in training.

Im obviously compromised, as he's one of my best mates, you can assess his career however way you like.

But I won't cop blatant bullshit on the bloke.

That is true.

Yeah no need to shit can the Bloke guys, he isn't that bad. Wouldn't mind him as insurance.

To be honest, sometimes it seems like you're so desperate to prove your football knowledge credentials that you will counter everything the football department does in a kind of "Pascal's wager" arrangement...

If they are wrong, you win 'cred' here. If they are right and the team has success it's only a minor loss ;)

Ignore.

I'm not so much anti Angus Graham, it's just that he is so ****ing indicative of our trading in the Brad Scott era.

He's not Gary Dempsey, but the bloke is honest and he has a crack.

I'm certainly not saying we should pick him up, im of the opposite view.

Sleights on his character are unwarranted though

Have you spoken to him recently Pykie?

It seems as though our interest in him is purely speculative and BF generated.

He's on holiday in Queensland atm.

Yeah, I'm not happy Hamish is leaving, but If someone like Graham comes cheap, as you said, he would give us a contest and be serviceable, can't ask for much else. Wish we would play hardass and retain Hamish though.

I wouldn't mind him seems to be the only AFL experienced ruckman who may come cheap and be of service for 5+ years and at least he has a crack.

I'd be looking at Seaby before Angus, personally.

The only thing exciting about this is the fact someone might want to come to the Roos as apposed to leaving.

Pykie, I've seen things that would make your skin crawl, so it's nothing new to me.

I also have and have had mates play AFL footy, as a lot of us have, but if I got on my high horse to every negative/offensive post, then I wouldn't last long on the internet.

Maybe he's grown up, but from what I've experienced, he's a bit of a hero. (I suppose they all are ... so meh whatever)

You know what, let's just bring him in....

Do you have a single opinion that runs contrary to the football department?
Tef, your out of order here...........its not fair for you to make a comment like that when all season you've potted people with the thought of even thinking of trading Hamish out......only to to soften with the obligatory comment :- I support the notion "only" if Hamish wants to leave. Well guess what !! he does!! In hind sight the writing was there because he wanted to have a clean bill of health for potential suitors for this time of the year. You stated that we should be targeting mature bodies to give the kids in the centre a chopout, but that hasnt happened. So that blows your theory (so far) in the direction Brad Scott wishes to go.

What it boils down to is:- no matter how passionate we are about the club no one here has more right than anyone else to express their views. And no one can be right all the time!!! I enjoy your wit and your opinions Tef. And sure, your football knowledge is top rate but gee bloke it wouldn't hurt to be nice and embrace some for awhile.

(this is a test to see if Im auto ignore);)

The issues being discussed here are ones we have been debating all season, so I thought I'd cover off what my view has been re: Angus.

Firstly, no point sugar coating it - we want him gone. A few years ago he looked to have some potential, and was starting to show something. He got the three year deal, and its fallen to shit since. Guy is a monster, but doesn't play hard enough, and has limited value around the ground. I was one of the latter guys to turn on him (still have his match day jumper framed on my wall from a club auction - so I did like the guy), but I've just lost patience. If he was an angry lump of meat who at least provided a contest, that would be one thing, but we weren't even getting that.

On the contract, word is it is a $300k+ deal (one of those ones we needed to get above the minimum), but I understand it was heavily front ended. Not from a personal source I know, but heard it a few times. Anyway I don't think he would cost you much financially - we may have to pitch in for 2013, but after that its effectively a new deal and North can give him a more realistic wage.

He has done pretty well at VFL. He has had a handful of decent AFL games. He has had a few glimmers up forward where he looks half decent in front of the sticks. As I said before, I've lost patience with him, so I'm not convinced he can improve in the AFL. May be just one of those guys who's better in the VFL. May also be better with the change of scenery and new coaches. Who knows.

IMO he lacks the mobility to be a goal kicking ruck, so its number one ruck or nothing. He needs to get more urgency into his game, and more aggression. He will never be a star, but if he does this, he will at least hold the opposition ruck accountable - and thats all you usually hope for from a second string ruck.

Would I take him if I was you, no. We have been going ape shit over him all season, and I admit its bloody funny that you guys are having the exact same reaction just even considering he may come your way. Until its done I won't believe it though, as I expect to see him on or list next year (I honestly cannot believe someone will trade for him).

I wanna hear some of these stories about some of our footballers...

You seriously think any of us would put on here bad stories about our players?
