I dont know a lot about the production company but both the Applegate and her husband will have significant input into the whole thing!

Has potential, but will probably suck. As long as it doesn't become hollow popculture garbage like fellow Scholastic adaptation Goosebumps (the director of that film, Rob Letterman, also made the similarly flawed Detective Pikachu, so for god sake please steer clear of hacks like him). Animorphs lately becoming part of the "remember this" canon suggests that cartoony superficiality might be a danger. After all, Stine was involved with the bankrupt Goosebumps adaptations.

A TV series nextgen reboot might have been a better option imo. Can do the effects more cheaply nowadays and it lends itself a little better to seasons. Market out there for that teen sci-fi sort of thing.
