So who is Tony Jones? Should I be in awe of his opinions?
You should be in awe of his "choppers".

They could have argued for an alternative method of rehabilitating the injury. Or, if they agreed with the course of action taken, then they are just as culpable.
I think they did, jmac assures me the fall down drunk piss in a bin rehab technique is 2nd to none

So you think the club should be overriding medical specialists? This thread really does my head in. Anyone would think that medicine had advanced 100 years overnight. It's extremely common for doctors to be uncertain about what is causing inflammation and unsure if rest or exploratory surgery would heal the issue.

Is there any chance that the player involved didn't update the club regularly about the failure of rest as a recovery method of the injury during the union forced break they must have?

Gotta sack Eddie and Bucks over this obviously...

Cause Jamie clearly can't be to blame as he 100% recovered properly during his time off.

p.s... who pissed in my bin?

Any chance there are a few young lads at the club who are rubbing their hands in glee at the opportunity this might bring them...

Maybe they put in 100% and are ready to hit the ground running...

like for the past 6 years? Opportunities have been there what makes this any different?

So they are culpable for not knowing the Elliot's injury would not respond to rest ? That makes no sense, unless you believe they have a crystal ball.
How do you know they didn't settle on this option after reviewing ALL alternative methods?

We seem to always take the wrong path when it comes to injury management. We are going great though

Lots of players have injuries and surgeries and only ever seems to be the few cases where there are complications we actually hear about and discuss so hard to judge. Not sure how we'd rank relative to the other 17 clubs either given most of us I assume couldn't give a toss about them. Also doubt any club would push for a surgical response when it is thought rest would heal the injury.

I your MEDICAL opinion in what way has the club mismanaged this?
I was being sarcastic. I am an uninformed opinion giver...shock horror.

Your point is then that anything that happens within the four walls of the club, match day or anything really...should only be open to experts with the information to provide informed opinions. Nobody outside of the club can make judgements on things relating to Collingwood, there is always something we don’t know!

Mods please shut down the board.

Ok just an update, apparantly there were severe complications with the surgery, Dr Nick Riviera said he thought the requested surgery was for amputation above the ankle and only found out the real reason for the surgery after it was too late, Dr Nick also removed the wrong ankle.

Although clearly a setback, the Collingwood football club said they expected Jamie to make a full recovery and to be back in full training once his foot grows back, hopefully around February.
