If I was in friend 1's situation I would've explicitly stated the cost of the ticket, followed by, "let me know if you're interested otherwise I'll find someone else to buy them.

If the person I was selling them to dis not ask the price I would've said "by the way they're 300. If I hadn't stated that from the outset and the person came back with your explanation I would've felt bad and would've been more than happy to wear some of the cost.

Some of the story doesn't add up to me. At first friend one sounded like a liar and someone who's trynna make money off you. Then you add that her father is out of pocket. Which 1 is it? If he is indeed out of pocket then why preface your initial question with info about her old man going to events for free.

Either avoid the awkward situation and pay her 600 and be done with it. Or talk to her about your situation, find out if the tickets were free or not and reach a compromise together. All the cards need to be laid out on the table by both parties otherwise you'll look like the bad guy

OP has a bit of an attitude problem imo and as stated previously, he isn't interested in any advice so the thread was kind of pointless.

Theres definately more than meets the eye in regards to this mysterious event

Explained my situation and agreed to pay 1/3. Sent the money and told her to give her dad my number if there was a problem. Haven't heard anything back.
