Another Gear?

I was listening to 46 & Hardie last night and they were talking to Bruce Macavaney and He commented that he had a feeling that Freo could go up another gear when the others seem surpised that he said that we would be in the mix at the end of the year.

While it is good to hear such commented from someone non-aligned who has a lot of knowledge about footy, He confirmed what I have felt (I am a bit one-eyed though).

If you look at it we have only played one 4 QTR game against Brisbane and nearly a 4 QTR game against the pies.

I have a feeling he is on the money.

Did Bruce mention if his love for the Duck has diminished?.

Back on topic, do we have another gear?, I suspect so although this year we have only rarely see it used. Brissie are the kings of having another, got them under control and then they take off and kick 5 goals in 5 minutes.

Exactly my thoughts masai.

For only so many rounds does the line 'we havent played our best footy yet' go down well. Maybe we are struggling to play the new style required, and we have played are best footy - its just not very good footy.

I think most people base their improved performance theory on our list, which is quite strong. But when alot of that list isnt performing to expectations, chances that they will all get it to click at the same time isn't strong.

I hope 'Special' is right, please be right.

Bruce is spot on!

We have shown that we, like Brisbane, have another gear and can hit the switch to play it.

If you don't believe it think of the Geelong game: 4:30 to go in the match, we were up by 2 points THEN we got 4 quick goals in 4:30 to win by 26 points.

But by god we'll have to use that gear tomorrow night otherwise we're f***ed!
