I can’t argue inept umpring, so I guess you are right.
The solution is to not use s**t umpires.
That's a great solution, I can't believe nobody has ever thought of that before. Where are all these amazing umpires hiding?

They said that on ABC.I still don't see why we couldn't just be given the 6 points in general play afterwards?
Sure we might have to forego a centre bounce but it was a goal that should have counted.
Why are these situations never thought about when designing the system and making rules, before they cost somebody a goal? They knew within 15 seconds it was a goal, why not stop play, count the goal and go back to the centre?
Nobody would ever have thought an umpire would miss that easy a decision. Why are these situations never thought about when designing the system and making rules, before they cost somebody a goal?
But doubt from who? If the umpire had doubt he would have used the system, but he obviously didn't have doubt so he didn't use it. Now he was wrong, but what is the solution?
If the umpire doesn't have doubt then the system doesn't get used. Do we just use the system every single time the ball gets close to the goal line and go to a review regardless of what the umpire thinks? Do we get rid of the umpires and only use the electronic system?
Saying 'just use the system' doesn't actually offer a solution.
Lol you had me until you trailed off into I don't know where at the end there. While I think most can appreciate your point, that was simply unacceptable. How could he not have doubt? & this has nothing to do with it only being obvious in slomo, commentators picked up on it immediately & watching live it was obvious it was close either way.
So ok, it was a moment of gross incompetence but we just should let it slide, the game should just wear these decisions? Not that I can think of one even remotely comparable offhand.
Looks to me like the job is too much for one person, add another down there at each end just for good luck. Surely we couldn't get 2 goal umpires daydreaming about oh I don't know maybe how to propose to their missus during game defining moments, now could we...
For an obvious goal scored like in this case, they should just add the points onto the score once its been confirmed. The game can just continue on anyway as it went. Its probably the fairest outcome. Something to consider for next year.
I do like the fact that these goal umpires have ONE job..."has the ball crossed the line"...it really shouldn't be that hard!
Give goal umpiring a go before you say it’s an easy job...
Amazing how out of shape Bombers fans get when they don't receive an armchair ride.
