Key phrase right there.

An "average" AC joint is sore, but the player can still raise his arm overhead.

Bower couldn't move it at all. Not always an indicator of severity, but it didn't look good.

Grade 1 - miss 1 week depending on soreness, plays with it taped.
Gd 4 - complete rupture, may require surgery, 10-12 weeks a possibility.

I know its no help at all, but AC joints are like that.......they can vary greatly and initial pain isn't always a good indication.

as i said Shot down!!!!! hehehe

i just guessed coz it took me 4 weeks to get over mine!!

And to be honest I don't think we'll ever see you back to your best.

Not a bad guess.

Hopefully it was only minor. It would be a shame for him to miss the rest of the year in the form he is in.

Shocking news just as he was starting to really perform. Going to miss him:(

Just really wish Bower had of went back and had the kick instead of trying to burst through a couple of cats players!:(

the only benefit i can see at the moment is that within the next month the only team that has a tall forward line is probably Port

otherwise
Pies
Tigers
Dons

dont exactly require a 4 tall backline!!! though Jamo could be ready by the Pies game!!

yeah and thanks steve johnson for playing on knowing bower wouldnt go after him and kicking the goal, great sportsmanship

That's just a silly comment

Sportsmanship? It was ____ing poor by other players not realising Bower was injured and manning up on the mark considering SJ almost always play on from set shots.

Just another stupid mistake by our young inexperienced team to go along with others elementary-school errors such as not standing on the goal line when an opposition player is taking a shot

What suprised me was that an experienced player didn't know what was obviously going to happen [people in the crowd knew what was going to happen].With Johnson around 45-50 out he'll nearly always play on.With the man on the mark injured it made it easier. All it would've taken to prevent Johnson playing on was a Carlton player to stand 5 metres to the right of Johnson. On the left was the boundary,so he was a near certainty to go to his right.
