The Gold Coast will probably become really expensive and they'll all need a cost of living allowance.

It's depressing how good the quality of WA based talent is in their best few players. O'Meara, Martin, Swallow, Bennell, Matera etc.

If there were only four clubs in Melbourne and the Cats, we'd still a have a zoning situation like the state leagues and rugby. Bit coincidental that the VFL/AFL draft started in 1986, and the Eagles played their first game six months later... they wanted a national competition because they wanted WA and SA players. And I'm someone who lives in and loves Victoria and has none of the paranoia some WA footy fans have. It's just a bit too coincidental for me.

So if Fremantle FC exclusively had South Freo, East Freo, Peel, Perth, and half of another WAFL side's zone... well, we'd end up with a couple of Eagles - Freo Grand Finals in the next five years.
