North Melbourne is thrilled to announce 13cabs as the club’s newest platinum partner.
With over 8,000 cabs on the road across the country and access to bus and coach transport at its disposal, 13cabs will become the club’s official point-to-point transport partner.
13cabs will be proudly displayed on the club’s AFL playing guernsey and shorts across the next two seasons and will also have strong off-field club branding throughout the 2026 and 2027 AFLW seasons.
This partnership also represents a significant boost to The Huddle, helping connect more communities with the industry-leading education programs provided at the Arden Street facilities and on matchdays.
North Melbourne CEO Jen Watt is excited to partner with 13cabs as the club aims to grow its fanbase and build on key initiatives like its ‘Welcome to AFL’ program.
"We’re thrilled to have 13cabs on board, an organisation that has helped Australians commute for nearly 30 years," Watt said.
"The 13cabs driver and bus network plays a key part in servicing our growing community and we believe the partnership represents an exciting opportunity to unlock the power of transport to welcome new fans to our AFL and AFLW matchdays."
13cabs Chief Operating Officer Olivia Barry shared her enthusiasm for the new partnership.
"North Melbourne is a club built on community, and transport is how community connects," Barry said.
"With our extensive driver network, we will make it easier for members and fans to get to AFL and AFLW matchdays while also backing The Huddle’s education programs at Arden Street.
"We’re proud to support both the AFL and AFLW programs at North Melbourne, helping the club and its people move with confidence."
13cabs is set to be an engaged partner of the football club, offering members exclusive offers, including 25 per cent off trips in the 13cabs app using code 13ROOS until the end of November, with more to come throughout the AFL and AFLW seasons. T&Cs apply.

Can we update the thread title to actually name the sponsor?

Other than that, any new sponsor is good news.

But I'm still not using a taxi in the year 2025 of our lord, just like I'm not popping down to the video rental store to hire 4 new release movies for $8.

That means we're going to have MAZDA, Chiq, and now 13 Cabs all featured on our guernsey?

That seems like a lot, no?

Eh, I should shut up. New sponsor is good news.

Updated. Can you still get 4 movies for $8? Where?

So they will replace Spirit of Tasmania as our platinum partner.

Good call.

So through the magic of elite photoshop skillz, here is a mockup of what the back of our guernsey will probably look like next season;

Clubs have been selling the neck line logo spot for sponsors last few seasons. Freo have host plus sponsor in that spot and given we are going with the same manufacturer just rebadged, maybe we’ve sold that spot for a bit of extra funding.

Commercial team kicking goals
Agree, they are having a great off season. Imagine how the sponsorships will roll in once we start winning games! Once again kudos to Jen and Sonja as well as the commercial team for another super off field achievement.

This is wild. I mean, we have no children, but we use cabs all the time. We don't own a car, spend about $2k/year on cabs and hire cars. We have a Kymco scooter to get to the gym/shops. The rest is foot/bus/tram/train. Total transport costs across the year are probably around $4k including petrol, servicing, Myki, cabs and goget.

Refuse to use uber, so I'm pretty happy about this.

It could be on the shorts similar to what we had with Hello Solar. With Inteprid moving from the shorts to the back.

Im confident it will be on the neck line, Mazda on the chest as always, intrepid top of the back and chiq on the lower back.

Why do you refuse to use Uber (or any other ride-sharing app, I'm assuming?)

They're infinitely better than Taxis. Typically cheaper. Can track exactly when it will arrive. Each trip has it's precise route recorded so it's easy to lodge any disputes should any arise. The cars are always cleaner. And they don't **** you around and try and over-charge you with BS like "oh the meter isn't working" etc.

Genuinely, I haven't heard of anyone under the age of 50 who still prefers taxis to ride-sharing apps these days.

Old school class warfare. Uber sucks for the contractors workers. Cab driving isn't a great job, but Uber isn't improving that situation. I'm only scraping under that age bracket by a couple of months, so maybe that's it. I don't mind cabs, they are generally fine.

I attended the Cox Plate on Saturday

When leaving some of the behaviour of the cabbies was astonishing. One couple in hteir 50's were in a canb whilst the driver stood there on the street screaming at them "Get out! I am not taking you to Northcote"

Meanwhile others were demanding $50 to go to Brunswick or the city

I booked my uber from Moonee Valley to Brunswick, paid $14 and was picked up within 3 minutes.

The only way I'd use a cab is if my phone battery was dead.
