Bloke called into SEN before saying he saw Brian Cousins and Bomber having a coffee. Somehow i doubt bomber would be chasing ben, but maybe Brian is trying to have a chat to Bomber about getting ben to the club. Does anyone know if the dude has called any other stations.

Obviously being SEN we should take it as a grain of salt, however if true could be interesting to see if Brian speaks to a few more clubs.

Bomber is good mates with Harvey who is at Freo and bomber also seems to know quite a few people in the WA footy scene...

Cats wouldn't be able to fit Cousins in terms of salary cap anyway so not worth worrying about

If cousins plays next year it will be with Richmond or Collingwood

Maybe he thinks he can turn him? Maybe Bomber sees him as a good challenge to take aboard?

I'd be happy to see Cousins on our list, but only for a minimum wage contract. Could be worth the risk. Any problems, sack him.

SEN isn't a great source though.

You could tell the guy was full of shit as he was saying it. Cuz won't be at Geelong. Not sure if he'll actually make it back but, if he does, surely Collingwood or Premiershipmond would be a better 'fit'.;)

Geelong might actually be a good fit for Cousins. Strong leadership group and very good team discipline. Just look at the amount Steve Johnson has changed.

But I don't see how he could play for Geelong. Even if he somehoe agreed minimum wage, can you really see 15 other teams passing him up in the PSD, especially at minumum wage

He won't play next year, at least not in the AFL.

I still like the scheme where he plays a year in the VFL first is the best. And there are some clubs where he clearly couldn't go. Hawthorn and Collingwood for instance. They have so many off field issues he'd be screwed. For everyone's good he has to be managed back in, the PSD lottery is not the way to go.

Being an addict doesn't mean he isn't a good person. Have you met him?
Yes......he is NOT (i repeated NOT) a good person
I have met Cuz a few times away from footy and he is a very dodgy person seems to be a magnet for BAD people, anyway i havent seen anybody draw the link between Cuz and having Cookie at our club. Im sure GFC have thought about it stupid if they didnt, but i doubt we would tell anyone if we were keen.

Sorry burto, usually I disagree with most harsh posters on here, as we shouldn't judge someone so quickly.

However with Ben, there is a difference. Stemming from his poor behaviour recently, his penchant to hang with the wrong people in his life and his smugness when he had to 'fess up' just irks most people.

I cannot see how he can be judged in any other way than a spoiled brat, leading to the question posed that he isn't a good person.

you have to play for a club for 10 years to be a veteran
Yes, Geelong get rid of their premiership playing ruckman, a former captain, a guy respected by everyone in the team and generally an all round good guy in Steven King for salary cap reasons and then draft Ben "such is life on ice" Cousins. I can see that going down real well...im sure Matty Scarlett whom Steven King was one of the groomsmen for his recent wedding, would really dig that.

If we hadn't just absolutely demolished the premiership in 07, then maybe there would be a possiblity, but considering how we just offloaded some pretty respectable blokes, i can see there is absolutely fook all chance of cousins being drafter.
