Another solid game by Howat

Hughes spent most of last week on the bench. I rate him highly for the future

Hughes has had more of an impact in games this year than Howat. Kicked 3 against the Eagles. Plus Hughes is 19/20 and is a KPP with a lot of improvement left.

Howat is as good as he'll ever be right now. Is a poor man's Tivendale. You rate Hughes "for the future" because he will improve, House on the otherhand, will not.

And Hughes has been able to hurt teams with his limited time on the ground. Perhaps the 3 goals against WCE and 3 against the Cats when we were getting belted have slipped your mind. The other difference with Hughes is he is about 1 of 6-10 KP types we have on our list, Howat is 1 of 20-25 mid sized players we have on our list.

Let me ask you this if Howat is so special why didn't the club elevate him last year? Instead they chose to keep him as a rookie and I dare say that had it not been for Cogs getting hurt he would not have even been given a chance this year.

He has got his chance and proven worth keeping on the list :thumbsu:

Proven worth keeping? I'm not so sure about that. Has looked average in a poor side and has gone missing completely every couple of games. He should be as good as Hyde by now if he wants a spot on the list but Hyde is much better.

What I like about Howat is his attitude (towards winning, as well as at training) but he hasn't yet shown many colours apart from the one trick. Not dimensional enough.

and he probably spent half of each game on the bench too
I wonder why:rolleyes:

Geez I hope Terry ignores you're letters or we will be just as crap as we have been for the last 25 years for the next 25 years.

Wake up, we have had one dimensional AVERAGE players like Howat for god knows how long and it has gotten us nowhere, it doesn't take much to realise that we will be going backwards by picking a soft one sided athlete with average skills and no football brain.

Yet another strong performance by Howat. He's been one of our best for the last 3 weeks. He will definately be signed up next year :thumbsu:

gets the ball, runs, kicks to a contest, ball gets swept up by hawks players and taken back down the other end. made no positive contribution to the team today. should be considered for delistment at the end of the year, he's a dime a dozen footballer, one-sided and slow minded.

and with the tigers that gets him a 100 game career with 150 a big chance. ;)

I see you have a different interpretation of strong to most others

as long as he trains hard, does all the rigth things on the training track, has a dip, does all those things that get him the nod.. he will have a long career with the tigers and will be chaired off after he announces his retirement on a career of playing in a bottome of the ladder side. Its the formula to success if you are an aspiring AFL footballer. Come to the tigers, you are big chance to have a career. We dont want players that know how to play the game, we want players that know how to train and do the right things on the training track.
That way we can hire all our skills coaches and pay them to teach you how to play the game.
THen everyone is happy and employed and you are perpetually developing. ;)

A real nothing game today.

I was a bit 50/50 on him up until now but now i thi8nk he will be extremly lucky to be at t he club next year.

Well, there would be half a dozen in todays team that will go before him if you think he doesn't look promising

He'll be 23 when the season starts next year. I just doubt he will be part of our long term plan.

Did nothing constructive yet again.

Didn't notice any obvious ones. He was ripped off after tackling Crawford. Crawford got a free for being tackled too high which was crap, but he was caught holding the ball

LMAO...ok, now I just have to assume you're blinder than a welder's dog. That was just about the most obvious free kick all day.
