Harvey, Gehrig, Clarke, Gardiner, Thompson, Hamill, Hudghton all to go soon. Hayes, Baker, Milne all 27. A 26 year-old back-up in Rix. Tick-tock, tick-tock, running out of time.

They will soon look like 'old' St Kilda. A fab-4 and then nought.

what the hell are you on about?

harvs and gehrig have played well and hudgton still has a bit to offer, clarke and gardnier are just top ups

lol at hayes and baker running out of time but only mid 20's thats bull**** mate

i hate stkilda and am glad they have done nothing but they have done a hell of a lot more than geelong, dees and dogs combined over the last 5 years

sydney and the eagles have just been a class above

yea a return of 0 goals from one of the better FF's going round is alright is it??

Paul Roos has done a lot of good work with players from way down the draft pick. Micky O, Goodes, Kirk (dumped once), Leo Barry was useless, Kennelly a punt on an Irishman, and a few experienced players (retreads mostly), some of which have come off - and one from Richmond a few years back who didn't.

Coaching and culture seem to be key to success. Roos was voted for by Swans supporters and players despite Wallace being signed to replace Eade. The board backed down - not that Wallace isn't a good coach, he is. Swans fans believe in Roos and so do the players. The media gives him a hard time when we lose a few on the trot but not the fans or the team.

Tigers have a good coach and a good list, and hopefully Wallace can instill a strong culture throughout the club. Swans and Weagles have very similar cultures. The only difference is Swans players prefer beer. :D

agree with your theory, but genuinely think Wallace has found an ok mix in the last two years with rebuilding yet not being spat on. Maybe its his ability to wac the mouth on auto pilot and talk like a politician but it seems to be doing the job. We're getting better and have a good young list that many would have to agree will be a good list soon. The signs of steady improvement are already evident and i certainly dont think we're far behind Carlton in terms of a rebuilt list. Brisbane however should be comended for their short turn around. They certainly didnt "bottom out" as you say though and richmond can do the same.

Hold the phone... lets not get ahead of ourselves. Brisbane were downright woeful last year and they've had two games this year - Hawthorn (who were ****ful) and StKilda (who poo their pants every time the word Woollongabba is mentioned). Brisbane are by no means ahead of us... they wont make finals this year and WILL have to bottom out to win another flag.

i was talking previous years goose

stkilda have been smashed with injuries if we think we are in a bad patch look at the quality they had out last weekend

its not like i feel sorry for them but i know theres nothing they can do

He has a point about Richmond culture but what is Richmond culture? It is the demand that those coaching and playing for The Tigers try 100% to win. That's it. No tanking, no cheating, no holding back. We get called ninthmond because even when we are cr@p we are trying and not tanking into bottom 2 just for draft picks.

It may not be "clever' but I'd prefer it to tanking.

Yeah sure we like to talk about that Tiger attitude, but in reality it hasn't been there since Hafey's days.

Anyone else reckon he could've been a worthy, albeit unorthodox, choice of coach when we were last looking?

I think he tentatively threw his hat in the ring when we sacked either Walls or Geischen. Probably would have gotten results in the John Northey 'run through brick walls to win' style. Not sure if modern tactics would have been beyond him or not.

I think there is a role for him as chairman of selectors or some kind of advisory role.
