this is a terrific piece by tim.

"We live inside a billionaire-operated media landscape where every little & big thing that happens is part of a struggle to shape what we think & how we act and most of the time we don’t realise how we are being played. And look, even realising it doesn’t help."

and

"The passivity of Albanese’s approach is dangerous, not least because it is so dispiriting to those who would actually be willing to fight for something better. Who are already fighting for something better. I don’t think Labor will save us, but given our current institutional arrangements, they are the only not-completely-insane alternative able to form government, so we have to invest a sliver of short-term hope in them coming to their senses.

And that means demanding something better."

We have essentially allowed information to be controlled by Newscorp, Musk and Xi and need to take action to break up monopolies, ban any foreign ownership of media in Australia and educate people much more about how Musk and Xi are manipulating X and Tiktok to support their agendas.

added to which, the oligarchs are now getting control of the legacy media in the us.

Pretty much sums it up. Politics is in the toilet world wide controlled by the big corporations interest. We have literal gambling ads swamping TVs while they ban social media for its danger.

USA election was based more on trans issues than the fact the country doesn’t have health care and school shootings happen weekly. It’s all pushed to distract.

Trump effect was at least a factor in Canadian and Australian elections returning left or centre parties to government though

Albo will be replaced during 2026. He has been shown to be weak - he can’t come back from this. Plibersek is my bet for the next PM and she will win easily in 2028

Calls for a RC are getting louder and louder. Someone will need to be blamed and it is easier for the ALP to push Albo aside. That allows a reset. I said from day one his response was weak and he would be blamed for this. Despite the protests of this sub (which is a far left echo chamber) - I was correct.

I actually don’t think it is fair because yes Albo has been weak but he’s a small part of a much larger problem. But that’s politics

And how is he going to be pushed aside? The ALP changed its rules with regard to leadership.

The change will only occur if Albanese falls on his sword. I don’t see him doing that.

Yes, anyone suggesting Albanese will be replaced doesn't understand the restructure of leadership determination in the ALP.

I understand it. I think Albo will step aside when it becomes obvious the ALP can’t win with him

I don't think he will tbh. Either through (possibly mis-placed) self-belief or failing to read the room, I don't think he'd go voluntarily, which makes it extremely unlikely the party can replace him. Will be an interesting time between now and next election, either way.

I'm struggling to see anyone in the Liberal Party capable of putting together a set of policies that will see them winning the sort of swing they need to win the next election and cost of living and a potential rate rise will trump any concerns about antisemitism for the average voter going into this year.

There is more chance of Carlton going undefeated and winning this year's flag than this happening.

The Israeli gov'ts forensic analysis of what australia needs to do to rid itself of antisemitism, which I referred to in an earlier post, has caitlin johnstone as its top demonic influencer.

I have to admit that I'm a recent student of israeli hasbara and I didnt know who that person was. In fact, it appears that she is an Australian. Youtube has kindly shuffled her most recent youtube video to me, which has her husband reading a response to the Israeli government's allegation.

I thought you all might be interested, especially the reference to the new israeli policy of promoting islamophobic, ably demonstrated by many BF posters.

I'm unsure whether the israeli gov't has told its local subbranch to categorise this woman as a terrorist....so if this is my last post, adieu...

Just read the article. I wonder where Daniel Andrews would sit in his estimation in this context? I use him as the example as he’s probably the most successful Labor leader of recent times, but I think he was also far bolder than Albanese.

I reckon a pretty telling point regarding Andrews

His last reform attempt was taxing elite private schools, it got reversed real quick and he retired soon after.

Dude had a lot of juice and you could argue he was past his peak when he brutally lost that battle but I question how hard he pushed against the system before that regardless of what the HUN would have you believe

COVID cooked him I think. There has not been a similar sustained public / media attack on an individual politician… probably in Australian history. It was above and beyond anything seen otherwise.

I would say several multitudes of what Albanese has copped on Bondi - and it was daily for two years.

Yeah and I think he got plenty wrong during it too

But none of the pressure was about making things better

Same as now regarding Bondi

LOL and the Coalition are going to be in a winning position?

FMD the Libs have lost seats which they had held continuously since those seats were formed. For over half a century in many cases.

They have to win all those seats back before they can even be spoken of as an electoral prospect. Do some basic maths. You clearly have no idea how deep the rout of the Libs was.

The Israeli Government lobby and their Australian business and media supporters have rolled out the big guns now.

Renowned international terrorism and law experts Luke Beveridge, Alistair Clarkson, Leigh Matthews and Scott Pendlebury have added their considerable expertise to calls demanding that Australian PM Anthony Albanese call a Federal Royal Commission into the Bondi shootings.

Beyond parody now.

So where are the renowned international terrorism and law experts that DON’T want Anthony Albanese to call a Federal Royal Commission into the Bondi shootings? I’ve yet to see any.

Why don’t you want it?

The Libs need to remember their James Carville lest they get a bit carried away here, it's the economy stupid. Christmas bills are coming in and with the prospect of a rate raise, Clarko and Throrpey backing their position on an RC isn't going to win them jack shit at the next election.

Absolutely. Beyond parody.

Remember when Kevin Rudd or Tony Abbott were going to rule for a decade? Anything is possible in modern politics. The group think here is incredible

The same carville that said it was impossible for trump to win the 2024 election and and the same carville that says democrats should do nothing in 2025 ?

Carville needs to retire and disapear from all public life.
