Because throwing a ball 5 yards sideways is infinitely more skilful than hitting a running team-mate on the chest with a 50m drop-punt while yourself running at full speed.

Pure AFL intelligence this one.
That's like saying 'Because tapping the ball back to concede a behind is more skillfull that throwing a curving 30 metre-spiral pass that cuts out 4 guys and hits the team-mate on the chest.
You choose a mundane skill in one game, and compare it to a highlight skill in the other.
Considering the AFL has less than 20 players who can do this afore mentioned '50-metre kick to the chest' with regularity, don't go proclaiming it's the run of the mill action in the game.
If you were to compare Andrew Johns to Ashley McIntosh, RL would wins hands down.
Comments like that just add creedence to EA's claim about AFL fans being ignorant.

The tackling styles are different. In AFL, you cant tackle below the knees. In league, tackling is made easier because 2 lines of men are running into each other, whereas in AFL, its usually players chasing other players in all directions.
Although i admit there is more physicality in League, u cant just say, league tacklers are better. Its like saying table tennis players hit better than tennis players. You cant just compare it like that. Personally, tackles are not very common in AFL and so it creates more excitement when there is a tackle.
Think of it this way, get an afl team to play league and get a league team to play afl. Which do u think will be a better one to watch? AFL is definitely more skills based and you wont have many players in league who can kick straight, handball straight and mark AFL style.

And you aren't paying the Technique required to tackle head on enough credit. Trust me, the AFL players wouldn't stand a chance. It would be offload city out there.
Yes, once again my post is more biased than ever. Do you think league players would stand a chance in afl? I do credit the head on tackles and do see that we would lack the skills to try to stop offloads. All i am saying is that we would perform better.
Hahaha, so true... I havent been here often but i'd say that 80% of my posts are arguments between AFL and league, which i agree is pretty sad. But people like the leb inspire me to love afl more. I shall spend less time in this forum from now on.
Im waiting for a soccer fan to come in here and shut us all up.

hey sid if the league guys played a game of a.f.l against any of the teams in the a.f.l they would get hammered on the score board.if the a.f.l played against any of the league teams from australia or england,THEY WOULDN'T COME BACK OUT AFTER THE HALF TIME BREAK.

It'd be More interesting if the Australian Weightlifting Team took on the Australian lawn Bowls Team in a Game of League
bring it on league!! it shows that league is also crap coz u have to get a team from another country to play in an aussie based rugby league comp. thats just stupid if u ask me. but its probably coz qld, act and nsw r the only rugby states (and afl is becoming very popular in qld with the sucsess of brissy).
afl is played in vic, sa, wa, tas, and nt. thats y we have such good supporter bases. im sure none of the league clubs could get 40,000 members.

4 AFL States = 48% of the population.
2 NRL States = 52% of the population.
