I'm still failing to see why they shutdown the industry rather than put efforts in to regulate and clean it up.
The way I read it "the industry is unable to reform itself" really means something more like "the industry will resist change being imposed on it by outside parties like the State Government".
Because it was deemed impossible to clean up and regulate.
I disagree. It's not impossible to clean up and regulate.
I disagree.
Animal cruelty is a necessary part of this industry.
It's not impossible to clean up and regulate.
Both.Do you mean the actual racing part is animal cruelty or the training practices they employ?

As has been said, the report disagrees with you. The industry was considered a lost cause and unable to reform itself according to McHugh J.
I know that and I look forward to the report about mass ill dealings within Star casino, the gg's, pokies etc.
Tell me why those sectors are exempt? When the crooked trainers move interstate how will that be dealt with by different state jurisdictions...........or is it again up to the industry to "regulate" that?
Ask a veterinarian if it is animal cruelty! I Can guarantee you that it isn't.It is if the only reason for killing them is that they are of no use to a greyhound trainer.
They got approximately 0.67% of the vote in the Senate. NSW are shutting down an industry to appease this minority.
Point out where they are wrong. They got approximately 0.67% of the vote in the Senate. NSW are shutting down an industry to appease this minority.
Where they are wrong? If they showed some concern for the welfare of human beings, they would be appealing to Baird to clean up the small minority who are not doing the right thing. Not shutting down an industry that will result in the slaughter of tens of thousands of greyhounds and the destruction of livelihoods.Point out where they are wrong.

There is a big difference between pests like rabbits and greyhounds.through this entire thread you've done nothing but justify abuse, encouraged it and said the only thing that matters is betting, you've talked about how wide spread it is and how people who don't race "don't get it" and wouldn't understand. you've even claimed nailing a live rabbit to a board for a dog to chase is a service and how executing animals who can't run is mercy and now you fain sympathy of animals and want to "clean up the industry" your exactly why attempts to clean up the industry failed.
don't pretend all of sudden you give a s**t about the plight of the animals or that we're dealing with rogue operators.
Cruelty is still cruelty. There is a big difference between pests like rabbits and greyhounds.
