I saw a t-shirt today with medders on it with a line through it (i.e. anti- Medders) with some crap about how they'd had enough of Medhurst on the back.

Can't tell you how dissappointed I was with it.

The guy has lead our goal kicking the last 2 years and would be up there in the last few years with any small forward going around. Do people think that this is really "supporting" their team. I would like to hear if there is anyone on BF who owns one.

I just wonder if people would walk up to Medders (or any other Freo player that "supporters" like to rubbish) and wear the t-shirt or say to the player what they have been saying. I'm sure they wouldn't because they are gutless and soft. More gutless and soft then the players they denegrate.

By the way... Good game today Freo.

Are we talking about a Fremantle supporter or somebody else? Even if it is the former they do not really count as a "supporter". What kind of message are they sending doing that? And why bother "supporting" Freo if that is how low you will sink to be nasty to a player? Pathetic.
I feel ashamed that someone like that would support our team.

We should be wearing T-shirts depicting Monkey all dressed up in holy robes complete with halo instead, IMO.

It was a Freo supporter.

Speaking of which Medders played quite well today. He plays better when he's not worried about doing the team pass off and just kicking the goal. And who's bright idea was it to make Medhurst more team-orientated and having to pass off? He doesn't kick 40+ goals a season by passing off!

Appears a lot of people are starting to form the same opinion over here.

If it aint broke dont fix it.

Most us of probably thought he needed fixing. 20-20 hindsight suggests he was never broken.

If anything he needed to become more selfish. The best way for Medhurst to help the team is by kicking goals, not giving them off. The goals should be his No.1 priority, same with most forward pockets.

At least people are starting to realise that problem anyway and Medders may just convert back to the selfish hog of a goal sneek

I didn't see the shirt, but if what you say is true, that is stupid beyond belief.

As far as the worst supporters in the league go, as much as I hate to say it, I think we are second only to West Coast. Today was like a library, the only noise to be heard was whinging and moaning about every aspect of the game. Not to mention those who decided that tough times were better off bypassed altogether.

Real supporters will be just as supportive no matter how badly (or well) things are going. We don't seem to have too many.

It was only quiet in the first half... I think becuase we were all terrified that surely we couldn't capitulate like we did vs the Hawks, Roos and Lions. When we started kicking goals, the noise returned.

As for the Medders T-shirts... how many did you see? 37?

Although he kicked three he is still an arrogant pratt. He treated the crowd with contempt and if he believes he is bigger than the sum total Cuddley needs to kick fare in the arse. For mine he should be at the top of our trade list for 2006. Thats if any other team would be bothered?

I hope he gets more arrogant every week if it means he kicks 3 goals a game.

The guy would have to kick 10 goals a week to please some around here.

Dockers fans made those Kill Phil Shirts, so they are losers.

Agreed.

Once again let me voice my support for Medhurst. I would be disappointed to see him traded.

I heard about that, a pretty low act that was.
Still I wouldn't tar all Dockers supporters in the same brush, they have had to put up with a lot of crap over the years, yet are still loyal.

The Kill phil shirts were funnies as they were of the Derby fights between Dodd and Phil Read and Hayden and Phil Matera. And because Kill Bill was popular at the time the link was there. They weren't meant to be taken literally as in actually kill em.

But teams supporters making shirts against their own players...that's just stupid by Dockers supporters.

I hate Dockerland, but anyone who has any sort of a problem with the "Kill Phil" shirts is a complete and utter idiot. Is it so hard to understand that the shirts had nothing to do with death? It was a joke, albeit a not very funny one.

"Kill Phil" shirts for dummies:

Shirt one featuring Phil Read commemorated the moment when Dale Kickett fought back against Read, teaching that little vile scumbag the lesson he undisputably deserved. If my memory serves me correctly, nobody died in the round 21 Western Derby of 2000, so it does not refer to a real killing.

Shirt two featuring Phil Matera commemorated the occasions when Roger Hayden convincingly outplayed Matera. Are Eagles fans really too stupid to understand that the word "kill" often refers to someone being outplayed or defeated convincingly (i.e. St Kilda "killed" Carlton yesterday)?

Only Eagles fans would be dumb enough to get offended by that.

Yes kapow he tried to do the team orientated things a couple of times and muffed it V Dishlickers.

Bring back the arguing with the umpires, team mates, opposition players, being hungry and not passing off BUT he was very dangerous and was good for 2 goals a game. leave his head alone.
