I dunno if at hadn’t been done before.... but this was a piece I did the day my mother in law passed away. I called it “The Final Goodbye”. It was at that stage, the largest piece I’d ever done. I had no plan going in...it just took me on a journey.

I really like the background story and the metaphor to the art - a loved one floating away into the distance, a landscape between heaven and earth.

Or am I reading too much into it?

I’m going to have to pick up some pencils/pen and start drawing something. I’ve already got an idea brewing.

Another airbrush project. Haven’t learned the skills to do “feathers” yet, so had to improvise. Did the bloody eye about 50 times!

Been too windy for spray or airbrush, so did a few little watercolours instead. Pretty apt for ISO.

I love it when someone suddenly discovers they can actually do stuff like this. Visual art has always been under-funded and under-valued in schools, and society for that matter, for as long as I can remember. I'm sure the majority of people don't understand how shit the world would be without it. You're doing an amazing job with your newly-discovered talent.

Sweet baby Jesus this is special. You annoy me so much DonkeyM. I taught Art for x number of years after x number of years of fine art study. Yep I can draw and paint, but now I wish I never had any formal training because I lost every bit of innate expression doing things the ‘right’ way. Your innate feel for composition is truly outstanding.

what paint do you use? Is that house paint enamel? It looks like it on my phone.

Thank you, that’s a big wrap. Yeah I just paint happy and things that I like, I’m going to do a Darwin/NT still life showing at some stage.
it’s acrylic house paint on canvas. I like the flow on the brushand the vibrancy of the colours.
