I think we will go in unchanged from the side 2 weeks ago.

The only one i would think of is maybe dropping Shannon Byrnes. Not that he deserves it but i would look at bringing in Brent Prismall. I just think his disposal is much better and he gets a bit more of it than Byrnes.

It would be a big call but the only possible change that i can think of.

the only way they would tinker with the team is if Egan is ready which he is not yet.

unchanged

it would be a blow for Shannon who has done a good job in the role he has overall. But I agree Brent had a great game in the VFL so he certainly is in contention. At the moment though I don't think it will change

I think Steven King's big body and finals experience could be good if we come up against Port in the grand final. Blake will do Ok against the ordinary Pies ruckmen, but he got smashed last time against Lade and Brogan.

Blakey did struggle against Port last time we played 'em.
Still think King's a chance of getting a game, probably won't but I wouldn't count him out yet...

Prismall kicked ass in the VFL, should get a game but Byrnes
has been playing well in recent weeks.

Either way I'm happy but would love to see Prismall play

would also shut the Collingwood board up about trading him

It'd be a slap in the face to drop Blake for the grand final, but I honestly think King would be the better ruckman against the big bodies of Lade and Brogan.

You never know they might play all three ruckman in the GF (should we get there)
They've been saying it all year:D

I agree that Shannon is probably the weakest link in what is a very strong Geelong Team,

but I dont see any point bringing in Prismall, although he has absolutley proven himself in the VFL, but has yet to in the AfL, granted he hasnt had much opportunity, but is the PF really the time to try a play to see if he will be any good at AFL level?

Look at Kane Tenace. Kills it in VFL every week he plays, but is absolutley no good in AFL.

Brent has all the qualities of what will be a great player but the business end of the season is not the time to test him out!

Shannon for me...

Or maybe you've been watching them through your anti-Shannon goggles...
i must admit that my 'goggles' were definitely anti-shannon for a long time, but have recently changed my tune. he deserves his spot in the side at the minute over varcoe, as he wins much more of the ball. even with his poor disposal, i believe that presently, he is a more effective player...

when it comes to prismall taking his spot, i think it would be highly unlikely, as much as he's gonna be a freak in the not to distant future, he woulda been given a chance in rounds 19-22 if he was a big chance. wondering whether he's done something to upset bomber, given his lack of afl time???

I would love to see Prismall play but they should leave him in the VFL so he can play in the grand final. If he got called up this week he would probably get dropped the next week when Egan comes back and wouldn't get to play in either of the grand finals.

Would love to see Pris in, however the only player you'd think to take out was Byrnes.

Although I'd like to see that happen, without Varcoe around the ground we lose a lot of chasing pace, which is something Byrnes has done, albeit to a smaller degree.

King, I think his ship has sailed into the moonlight. He probably would fit in the team against Port, but you'd have to go with Blake. Although if selected in the final, what a fitting finale if they do get into the GF and win. (Yes lid I know, I said if).

Egan also, but that remains a big if we make it through this week.

Again on Prismall though, I just think he is a better fit, greater disposal for sure, however in this heat of the game, I am still unsure whether to bring him in for Byrnes or not.

I would like to see it, but still unsure to how it will pan out.

No change, Prismall hasnt overly impressed in his AFL games and the last thing we want to do is mess with a winning lineup. Egan is the only player out that is certain to bring a massive improvement to the team. Other then him noone else would be looked at unless we have injuries.

too late to bring prismall in now - finals pace is far to hot to try someone who hasn't merited selection all season.

byrnes' pace and attack on the ball earns him his spot, for now. going forward he'll need to improve his disposal and confidence, or varcoe, prismall, tenace, djerkurra etc will move ahead of him.

steven king should be returned for the qf - his strength and experience are what we need in the big finals we're facing now. blake will have his day.

also, if egan doens't get up for the gf, we could possibly play all 3, with king dropping back as the extra tall in defence..!
