Any father-son/father-daughter picks coming up in the near future?

The West reporting that Alec Waterman has been invited to train with Essendon, who have at least one SSP spot available (possibly two if they move Mosquito to the inactive list).

Good luck to him.

How could you have your brother still play in the AFL on 300k plus, in front of 60k fans, and be happy playing in the WAFL in front of 1500 people getting sub 50k and having to work a real job at the same time.

If he IS happy he musn't have a single jealous bone in his body. Hat's off.

I suppose a train-on spot gives him the opportunity to see if his body’s really up for it.

I can't imagine a scenario where he or his old man couldn't make that call to the club or even Freo (if they have the room) so he could have a crack. There's no obligation from either local club to take him, and if he lights up the track the word will get out via journos, his agent and video footage online.

Not everyone has that drive to go to the highest level.

Case in point, Nathan Ablett and Matthew Cousins

Younger brothers of Brownlow medalists, talented in their own right but neither wanted to knuckle down for an AFL career. Both were happy to work regular jobs out of the limelight.

You could make the argument that he is just happy to be reasonably healthy after suffering several years of crippling illness

Embers getting married again, hopefully will keep pumping out those father/daughter future picks!

3 boys already, law of averages say at least one of them will be good right?

A couple of them seem really into their footy which is always a good start.

Two boys Van and Lux.

Looks like this one got missed, Lecca had his second boy last year as well

Seeing as there are only a few AFLW games each year, how many games will the women have to play for us before the mother/daughter rule applies, or even the mother/son rule?

I think 30 would be a good and fair number.

For the men its 100 games, which is just under five full seasons of home and away of 22 games.
Girls play 9 games in the home and away season, so 30 is just under three full seasons.

That might seem a bit low in numbers but to put it into perspective - Games played to date around the AFLW :

Daisy Pearce 24
Erin Phillips 23
Chelsea Randall 23
Ebony Marrinoff 33
Nicola Stevens 30
Sabrina Fredricks 29
Tayla Harris 29
Elisa O'Dea 28
Ella Blackburn 31
Emma Kearney 29
