Went and saw Jordan Matera play on Saturday. Got there a bit late and left a bit early.
He kicked two goals, one a classic piece of crumbing getting front and centre, cleanly picking up off the deck and snapping.
The other was a contested mark between two opponents, timed his jump better and took it on his chest.
Should have kicked 4. He was up the ground, but still closest to goal when the ball was belted over the back into space, he started 10 or so metres behind the defender but got past him and all he needed to do was touch it with his boot (as the ball kept bouncing to the goal line), he tried to toe poke it but it skipped sideways and he missed it.
The other he grabbed the ball cleanly and sold a dummy and snapped but put it OOF. Was under pressure so not that bad.
Generally very one touch and a great kick to leading forwards and on goals. Good attacking handball too.
Didn't cover the ground as well as last time (ankle injury =lack of training which = loss of fitness). Puts in a burst then cruises, and he appears a bit spent. Want to see him play midfield once he gets fit. Looks like he'd enjoy an inside role as he doesn't mind the rough stuff.
