Today was one of those days when we couldn't do anything wrong. Goals from anywhere and everywhere. 5 minutes into the second quarter, we were getting belted and down by 28 points. It was an amazing turn around and we dominated the match from that point. One thing we can improve on is our congestion of our forward 50m arc. Too often there are too many Richmond players and their opponents in the arc when we are trying to enter the area. We would be alot more efficient and Richo would be more damaging if he had room to lead and Brown and Tambling had room to crumb. Hopefully we can improve this part of our game which let us down against st kilda

I think we had too many players up forward because of the amount Port were flooding
Even in the 1st quarter when we were losing they had no one forward of the center

even if port flooded, we only should have had 3 of our players in the arc. I'm sure alot of the port players would not enter the arc if their opponent is standing on the 50m line. If they want to leave their opponent then we will have loose men and can have a shot from 50m. Some of our players need to be told by the runners to keep out of Richos path.

Our accountability when Port flooded was poor, every time that happens against us and we turn it over, the opposition run in numbers and we are nowhere to be seen. I thought that it would be the end of us again as it was in the Saints game, but we lifted in the second quarter and did a lot better in that area. I'd still like to see us be more accountable from the start.

I think Terry should drag players who run into the arc. It just prevents us from scoring and those players are most likely not going to get the ball kicked to them in such a conjested area. Imagine how many marks Richo would take in the arc if there was only him and the 2 forward pockets in there every time we went forward. If Richo is double teamed then Tambling can run inro space in the arc. OPEN UP THE FORWARD LINE TERRY

We were excellent. :) Would there be any changes to next week?

I'd expect Meyer would go back to the two's, maybe Tambling also. They've had a taste now, know what the level is that they need to be at. Jackson and Raines had good games for Coburg and will be pushing hard for a spot.

Given Carlton don't have the tall timber, we may see someone like Hall dropped, he had a reasonably good game, but the matchup might not be there. Not sure if they would bring Hartigan straight back after a hamstring, he may have a game at Coburg first.

Lots of Richmond-listed players had good games for Coburg so there is plenty of competition for spots, nobody can afford a bad game at the moment. Pattison and Gilmour are putting together good games consistently now so will be in consideration. Moore had a good one and will be pushing for Graham's spot in the team.

Overall though, hard to make changes after such a great win, if anyone does get dropped it will be hard on them.

Wouldn't drop Hall.

Deluca - Whitnall - Waite as Carlton's tall forwards.

Hall will be needed for Deluca.

Waite is a wild card. He had a good game this week. 190 cms, mobile. Probably give him Kellaway.

Whitnall has been bad this season, however he seems to do well against us.

No Fevola is excellent for us.

Players who could be dropped: Chaffey, Mark Graham, Danny Meyer, Richard Tambling.

None of these 4 players deserve to be dropped. However, Meyer and Tambling could be relegated to reserves as a part of their learning. Now they know how an AFL game is like. It would be better in my opinion if they have more games in the VFL.

Chaffey and Graham. I dont think they done anything wrong today. However there is a case for perhaps Daniel Jackson and Kelvin Moore being promoted. Loosing players like Chaffey and Graham will not negatively affect our teams performance.

Tivendale will be safe as he played his best game for the season.

Krakouer will also be safe as his performance was satisfactory and he also laid alot of tackles.

I would also like to see lids in the guts a bit more. But thats just being self gratitious

I wouldn't be expecting anyone dropped, was a team effort with no faults.
Improvement for next week, not letting the team get to far ahead, today's 28pt trail was flirting with danger, not smart.

Meyer would be the most likely player to be dropped. Can people stop saying Hall will be dropped, he's had quiet a few good games in a row now.
I'd like to see Pato come in got 18 posies, 9 marks and 4 goals for Coburg, but will probley just be a emergencie :( .
Tambling I don't think will be dropped, need him down there in the forward line roving/sharking.

Hartigan might be able to return this week, so i think:
Meyer out for Hartigan (otherwise Jackson)

Someone dropped? What message does that send to your footy team after a 56 point win? Just as Tambling had to earn his chance through the magoos so you must reward good performance.

I didn't see one player who warranted that consideration and to get a group that will never say die and can win from where those guys were yesterday, (i.e 28 points down and looking down the barrel at another St Kilda day), I think would be just plain crazy. Thats exactly what Wallace is about building not dismantling.

As for those pressing for selection, thats what makes a club strong...so when their chance does come they try and take it both hands.
