So..... we delist Gourdis after one season..... But we persist with JON after 3 seasons.. Unless Gourdis had an attitude issue it seems quite inconsistent.

Pettifer is lucky he did his knee.

These 4 National Draft picks will be crucial because we are carrying alot of dead weight, older players and unproven talent on our list.

From the 4 players we draft this November plus the 5 rookies we would want 4-6 to be regular senor players in 2011. They will be needed to replace retiring veterans and the questionable players who will get the chop.

We haven't been ruthless enough in our delistings in the past 2-3 seasons and every draft mistake hurts that little bit more. We have a decent list for next season but it could fall away quite quickly.

Sucks that 4 delistings were for untested talent. Means a lot of the well known hacks like Pettifer and JON stay on.

If they can see he is not going to make it after one season then I have no qualms that he is being delisted.

I just think we have held on to others for too long and that we have been reluctant to trade players out of the club who might not be long-term options (eg Schulz & Meyer)

Though White isn't an established player yet, he is better than those others in his group and he seems to always be improving. Hughes is good but has a lot of quiet games

Seems strange to delist a bloke who has had just one year at the club and seemingly had all the talent to make it, instead of a guy who has done an ACL and won't be available until at least halfway through next year.

Still confident we will rookie Gourdis though.

The one I am stunned about is delisting Collard, regardless of attitude or whatever, he has shown more than that spud Silvester ever could and ever will, he plays a position we have been crying out for, for the last 10 years, why not give this kid another go, I mean so what Silvester was injured for the last half of this season, but we have a young backline that is just setting itself up, we don't need a fallback option, if we do then draft someone!

Pretty angry with these last list changes.

gourdis a bit dissapointed abt especially considering where our list is at with some list cloggers and over 30's. word is he had some depression issues, maybe that was a factor?

If that's the case, it may seem harsh , but what is a professional sporting club that requires optimum performance from it's athletes above all else in order to survive and be successful in a highly competive environment supposed to do, unfortunately, psycholological issues don't qualify a player for the long term injury list as far as I know. On a side note...I wonder if a certain high profile president of another club has been made aware of this kid's issues.

I'm sure he's not the only player in the league with depression. There's absolutely no way. It's obviously affected him badly, or there are other issues.

Can Meyer and Casserley be rookied? If so, then with the injuries to Petts, Polak and Cogs to some degree... if we managed to re-rookie them or pick one of them back up with pick 74, then it may be the kick in the arse they need to get their career moving quickly.

With Petts and Polak on the long-term injury list, our first picked rookie will be someone with talent to go straight away you would imagine... because they could elevated immediately.

Just a thought.

I'd say all of Gourdis, Casserly and Meyer would be chances of getting rookied.

Disappointing for Collard, but at least the club isnt hanging on to these types who just dont take things seriously.

I guess the club can never win, damned if they do, damned if they dont.

One things for sure, and that is that the club knows a lot more about the players than us outsiders do.

Gourdis Delisted

Richmond has made the final changes to its playing list ahead of the 2008 National Draft.

David Gourdis has been delisted, while rookies Tristan Cartledge, Clayton Collard and Cameron Howat have not been retained on the Club’s rookie list.

The Tigers have made a total of five changes to their primary list after the 2008 season, with Greg Tivendale, Chris Hyde, Danny Meyer and Travis Casserly also departing Punt Road.

Jarrod Silvester has been retained as a second-year rookie for season 2009.

Gourdis was selected with Richmond’s number one pick in the 2008 pre season draft, but failed to play a senior game for the Club.

Surprised to see Sylvester stay on the Rookie list. We have plenty of talls down back. Maybe we are going to use Schulz up forward in 2009?

Will we use #74 or pass and go for someone in the PSD?
