Get excited, AFLX 2019 is about to be unveiled.

A revamped AFLX where teams are picked in a schoolyard-style format by four high profile captains is set to be unveiled to club chief executives this week.

The exact composition of the one-night event, which is scheduled for Friday 22 February at Marvel Stadium, is still being finalised.

But it’s understood the AFL is keen to blood an all-star look, with the likes of Fremantle superstar Nat Fyfe and Geelong champion Patrick Dangerfield as captains.

Sweet. Ok ...they're saying it's going to be Fyfe and Dangerfield, but that's probably a red herring to keep the real details under wraps. They're big names, but Dangerfield is a culture rotting hog who couldn't captain a LEGO ship, and Fyfe is from an irrelevant club that fails on the big stage. Enough said.

I suppose it will just have to be a bunch of Hawthorn players, since nobody else besides that Luke Hodge from Brisbane exudes the kind of prestigious authority and experience required to discern and manage a squad of cool, level-headed operators to win a piece of silverware in front of a large audience.

My AFLX captains are as follows, based on a four team finals series format.

Liam Shiels (born leader, can run inside and outside which is a must, recent championship experience). :trophy::trophy::trophy:

Luke Hodge (GOAT leader, will probably add yet another trophy to his CV. You want to be picked to fight in the trenches alongside Hodgey). :trophy::trophy::trophy::trophy:

Jarryd Roughead (best bloke in the entire AFL):trophy::trophy::trophy::trophy:

Cyril Rioli (what a comeback. Big game specialist, and they are teasing an indigenous flavour so it makes sense. Great news for maryjames ) :trophy::trophy::trophy::trophy:

I can't think of any players who would qualify outside of that. Hopefully the AFLX caretakers will do the right thing and pick the best and aforementioned leaders for the job rather than high profile paper tigers like Fyfe and Dangerfield :thumbsu:

“Big game specialist” where at? Tiwi island reserves..
Well he did 18 & 2 for one of the weakest and most charitable Norm Smith presentations in living memory. :$

18 disposals, 6 contested, 12 marks, 2 goals, 4 goal assists. A dominant performance :thumbsu:

Imagine 12 marks in an AFLX game though, he'd probably convert most of those into zoopers

Your melt refreshes me
He’s got a point tho. Crypils 2015 performance is one of the more lackluster NS’s we’ve ever seen. So much so you’re even ‘imagining’ his stats in AFLX.

I reckon all the Hawthorn players should wank into a bucket and the resultant multi-spooge be I.V.Fed into whoever is Australia's top consenting female athlete. Then the childrens fed growth accelerants so they're all 18 next year. Then replace eveyone in the competition.

Coz nobody else is good enough.

All slow plodders who wouldn't get a gig in Melbourne's dominant AFLX squad.

I vote Jake Melksham AFLX GOAT.
