Don't want to hear the names of people who won't realistically be available but rather players who could either be delisted or possibly traded from their current clubs over the next few years.

eg. Ryan Gamble, Leroy Jetta, Andrew Lovett.

My choice would be my man Troy Taylor. Has been in a bit of trouble, and who knows? He could very well be available. Love his talent and at Collingwood I think he can reach his potential as a footballer and as a person. Really versatile forward who could very easily fit into our forwardline without hurting the structure at all as he can play tall as small which brings great flexibility.

Ofcourse not everyone is going to agree with me on Taylor. But you know what? It doesn't matter. I want to know who you guys want who might become a realistic trade week or drafting target over the next few seasons.

No, the point is, if you don't like what you're reading, man up. You are all sounding like whimpy little b!tches.

Knight if Taylor is charged you know it means prison then curtains in afl yeah. Especially at our club.

For me I'd take the bombers tayte pears at chb

Exactly, Taylor won't be traded, he'll either play at Richmond or be doing time IMHO.

With a good lawyer he will get a good behavior bond or community service...he won't do time IMO. Richmond will probably dump him though.

Taylor could just be delisted at seasons end, definate possibility.

As opposed to a discussion about Troy Taylor I'm more interested in who is a player you would like us to pick up.

I'm thinking players off the scrap heap who could come cheap that you see something in. Whether you saw early glimpses or whatever may be the case. Just interested to hear names.

Idiotic thread and post to be sure.

Quit with the my man....

you probably use my bad too

Currently it is the offseason and personally I don't see why you have or should have a problem with this thread. It is simply a discussion topic about trading/ drafting ideas for Collingwood.

Please keep in mind that I am currently seeing a very beaufitul girl from the LA currently, so please be respectful mate.

His value is certainly looking quite high now after a solid 2009 season.

Any scrap heap type guys with no value that you have your eye on that you think could make a career for themselves at Collingwood?

eg. Paul Medhurst type story where his career looks over and with a change of club becomes a quality player.

If we needed a ruckman he would certainly be a nice option. Just with Fraser/ Jolly/ Wood/ McNamara/ Keeffe probably right for now.

Any others you have your eye on TD?

Well I could thing of a Few In:

  • James Sellar - KPF
  • Albert Proud
  • Casey Sibosado
  • Cameron Stokes
  • Stefan Martin
  • Matthew Westhoff
  • Daniel Currie
  • Ashley Hansen
  • Matt Rosa
  • Jarad Bouman

Can't see Rosa being available, looks pretty safe on the West Coast list right now.

Otherwise interesting list. Some of the names don't mind. Particularly Sellar. Only 9 games in 2009, and could become trade bait if he doesn't improve on that games tally in 2010. If for example Rusling was hit by injury again and Dawes showed nothing and got delisted also (just a situational) then Sellar would be a very nice addition to our key forward stocks to compliment JA and Cloke.

Well if he does not get a "stretch" and Richmond still dump him, theoretically because he is not worth the trouble on a downside versus upside basis, why the hell would we want him????

A whole lot of speculation about a young bloke who has proven not a single thing on field.

Do we really have to have 100 post threads on every young bloke with two legs and some possible football talent?

*This thread is not exclusively about Troy Taylor*

I'm asking around for guys who you can see might make the Paul Medhurst turn around going to a new club. Have any favourites you think might make it at Collingwood?

My "target" at the end of 2010 would be Steven Salopek.

He was a very high draft pick, who has never seemed to "settle" into the Port Adelaide gameplan, despite showing glimpses of his ability as a mid.

He had family problems (think his Mum died) around the time he was drafted, and he may well be a better player if he returned home to Victoria at the end of this season.

Others to target would include;

* Mitch Brown; Plays and looks different to his brother, more of a wingman/half back but would still love him at the club, despite his injury worries.

* Brett Deledio; Probably a long shot, but with Richmond struggling consistently again this year, he may well want to change clubs to a premiership contender, and he is exactly what we need, a quick, skillful, outside midfielder.

* Ryan Bastinac; Disappointed we didn't have the opportunity to pick him up, but if we offer him big money in 2 years time, he will leave Nth while the club is falling down around him.

I'd prefer us to target "young" players under 25, as we have just picked up Ball and Jolly who are over 25.

Salopek would still be the most likely out of that bunch.

Well M Brown signed a new 2 year deal this year but I still think he could be a Pie before his Carrier is finsed

Deledio would be good but I doubt he would leave and Tigers would want too much for him

Bastainac won't be traded for awhile since he was Just drafted

I know but it's back to Troy who we already have a pointless thread on.
answering the posts not the thread op.

I agree on Bastinac. He will prove to be one of the picks of the draft without a doubt and prove to be a very important player for North Melbourne for years to come. If we had pick 14 I probably would have gone with Tapscott as he could slot into the side easier due to our surplus of young mids, but Bastinac will have probably a top 5 career from this draft. So don't see him being trade bait ever.

Mitch Brown is certainly a possibility. I don't watch enough of his games to be able to give a super accurate yes or no on, but he would be worth a 1st round draft pick you would think.

And Deledio is pretty much the Richmond franchise player with Richardson gone, so as good as he would be in black and white can't see it happening.

Any players you like that could be scrap heap types who could be delisted and transformed into great players with a change of club (as we did with Medhurst?)
