Do you want the pessimistic view or the optimistic view?
If I were to make a case for us I would point to the way we moved the ball to get back within 2 goals in the last quarter. Barnaby French is an excellent tap ruckman and really brought Murphy into the game. Ratten was very rusty but will also improve and benefit from the ruck work.
The Pies scored several 9 pointers that are soul destroying for the opposition while the man most likely for the Blues, Corey McKernan wasn't playing. His presence would have helped the corridor football that Pagan wants us to play.
Ryan Houlihan and Brendan Fevola were two of our leading lights where as last year they were dragging the side down. Hopefully Pagan will help them realise that potential we all know they have.
Blake Campbell and Justin Davies has next to no game time which is strange because we struggled to contain the Pies pace and these two have a bit of toe.
No Manton and/or Martyn again exposed the defence. With one of these older heads around the young guys can play their game with less pressure.
If Allan comes back, he will be able to rotate between the ruck and CHB or FP with French. Just another avenue.
McKay adds steel to the backline and we missed his vigour along with Wiggins who was knocked silly during the match.
Turnovers from the likes of Hickmott who is generally reliable won't happen as frequently from now on.
Beaumont will be released to his favoured running half back position.
Jarrod Waite is coming on fast and showing some Kouta like poise.

Lappin seems to be back in 2001 form.
The big worry IMO is that the youngsters are taking far too long to step forward and we collectively have forgotten how to win.

Fair summary
Certainly down in the 'talls' area with Allan/Corky not there.
Felt mid-field pace looked a bit suss also - still, that can happen when the other side is rolling.
I'll watch your game against the Swans with interest. I just have a feeling they're not gonna be real flash this season and that your mob should be setting yourselves for a solid win against them. We'll see.

Don't bother bringing your anti-Carlton ****stir trolling to TBV though please. Keep the juvenile stuff for Sly's board, they love it there. What a joke that place is, supposedly an afl messageboard yet 80% of the posters are collingwood supporters!

Actually Sheik, Deej is omniscient.
It means that he knows what the tone of the post REALLY means, even if the oqiginal poster doesn't.
He's usually kind enough to point out to the original poster the error of his ways.
Indeed, he's frequently been know to suggest a meeting with the original poster in order to 'sort out' any problems.
