with all the talk on the main board about trades, I was just thinking if anybody got any good trade targets for us at the end of the year.

Perhaps we could do what Adelaide did and get an Andrew McLeod for zip.

I think Aaron Rogers from Melbourne is a gun, taken 25ish in the draft 2 years ago, was probably the best player for the NSW/ACT Rams this year. We could probably snare him for a pick 50-70. He could be an absolute gun if he sorted a few things out. Big Full Forward type player.

At the start of the year I had a few thoughts about Matt McCarthy from Geelong and the possiblity of going for him because his trade value would've been virtually nothing, but he's started playing this year and done quite well, just as I thought he'd do.

Anyone else??

Luke Molan from Melbourne could be worth a shot. CHB with good solid build (192cm 92kg). Was 9th pick in 2001 draft, but has been unlucky and has had injuries pretty much the whole time he's been at Melbourne. I think he's out with a knee reco at the moment.

Might be able to shore up our defence a bit.

Luke Livingston - Carlton. Was taken 4th overall in the 2000 draft but can't get a game at Carlton. With Milli announcing he will definately retire at the end of the year we will need a backman. We have a host of 2nd string players we could trade to Carlton which would benefit both teams.

Andrew Merrington, also from Carlton, will probably get delisted. Had big raps on him a few years ago and is the son of our former recruiting officer. Might be worth a go for a year in trying to turn him into a key position defender.

Robert Hadrill from the Dockers would be worth picking up but I wouldnt pay more than a 2nd round pick for him and the Dockers would probably ask more so probably a no-go.

I'd love to snare him but surly the dockers would keep him. talk is that mcPharlin and parker are above him but parker is getting on and mcP can't string more than 6 games together.

Livingston would definately be worth a shot, but Merrington's had plenty of time to make his mark, and would be no better than Trent Carroll IMO.

how ironic - he just a call up to the big time for this weekend. He may not be one of Denis Pagan's faves - he played most games last year, but this year has only played in 5 games, and although I haven't seen him play in any of them I doubt he has been given much game time because he only has 11 touches for those 5.

Well, its obvious to me that Pagan must have read my post and decided to play him to up his trade value ;)

If we were to look at a fringe player on another list that we could recycle - Livingstone would be the man to go for.

Groomed as a key position player at FB he would do nicely to compete with Glass for McIntosh's role next season.
