It may possibly be a reference to a chat room which used to be on these boards, IIRC. Got closed down because it apparently turned ugly, which I always found difficult to believe, given the participants.

It was because there was no way to cross the Chat database with the BF Membership database. Ie I could go on, use the username Chief and claim to be him and there'd be no way of disproving it.
