Anyone get some Good Guys gift cards today?

Starting today for two weeks at Australia Post, 20% off Good Guys gift cards:

Some agents were selling them last week and on the weekend while others refused to discount until today. I have $2650 in cards so far which has set me back just $2120 (saving of $530).

I have been to a Good Guys store and called up a separate store to confirm that multiple cards can be used in a single transaction. Have also read through their Gift Card policy on their website. And the cards have a 12 month validity.

Fair warning: many Post Offices have sold out, although may be getting in more.

Seems like a fair deal, but i find at the good guys if you pay in cash you can usually get more than 20% knocked off the price.

I bought my new tv there 18 months ago, and the sticker was $2200 and i got it for $1600

Had a couple of mates do this. One got a TV knocked down about 20% negotiating and then used the cards so thats a huge saving.

The other went to the same store and when they realised he was using the cards said the lowest price they could do was the price that was on the tag.

I'm sure he'll get a deal from another store/salesman but for those using them just a heads up.

Bought a 55" Samsung LED this morning and saved $1200 thanks to flyer above (20% off) coupled with discounted gift cards (another 20% off). Unfortunately these discounted gift cards have been hard to find since Monday last week.
